The Tesla would have recorded everything, also there is a camera in side which is 1 of 7. The driver is toast like his car.

The penalty for Hit and Run is less than the penalty for Drunk Driving. Unless you spend bank for a Quality Lawyer. People run for this reason often.

Those are temporary license plates. Which indicates this car is recently purchased from a dealership. Typically given by the dealer until the state sends you an official plate.

Was that vehicle equipped with self driving features? If the owner wasn't intentionally driving it that way, must have been a young individual that freaked out thinking the car was out of control. Ya, no mention of the owner, yet the news reports is to figure out who the driver is. Pretty sure the police ran the license plate number and knew who right away. Yes, so many questions about how did this actually occur. Was it not drivers fault. Probably the reason the owners name being kept secret.

If it was thought to be in self driving mode then yes, it crashed. If it was in self driving mode it crashed. If it was being driven, it might have made an erratic maneuver to avoid a perceived accident because the driver was driving at a reckless speed along a narrow street lined with cars.
