Love the shout out to MSM. That place has been around for decades and I've been going there since the early 90's. Covid and the change of ownership actually changed the place a lot. It used to be an east coast style bodega, and had a pretty amazing selection of beer for the size of the place. Now it's just all sandwiches, which, don't get me wrong isn't a totally bad thing, but I do miss being able to get a beer with my sandwich.
@arvurebantra763917 минут бұрын
I haven't been to MSM since before Covid. Did they really change? They've always been a favorite when I could get over there, so I hope it's still worth it!
@timdavis18772 сағат бұрын
Solid work, they are all on my list. I have to pimp Slab for their Cubano and Mean Sandwich for everything and those damn Salt-N-Pepa potatoes!! #Subscribed

MSM is top notch. It’s nostalgic and never disappoints when taking it to go for a picnic or even on a go.

I grew up on the east coast, in the Boston area, and when I moved to the PNW I missed those corner deli sandwich shops. Finding places like the MSM and other spots is so refreshing!

Tat's pastrami is my favorite in the area, Dingfelder's is solid, and Hitchcock on Bainbridge Island does a really good pastrami too. Gilbert's uses Boars head meats, kind of pricey for store bought deli meat.

I think Market House Meats around Stewart and Yale deserves a mention. It's been in the same location for nearly 75 years and is proudly old school. I would rate their Ruben as probably the best in Seattle. Huge portion of corned beef sauerkraut Swiss and Russian dressing on marbled rye. The hit pastrami and other sandwiches including a cheese steak are excellent. As is the cheeseburger 🍔

I was surprised you went to Tacoma and MSM. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen people come in and pick up a couple of bags full of sandwiches. That kitchen is hopping. Like others have said, Pick Quick in Fife is a must for burgers. It is an old walk up joint with picnic tables to use when the weather permits it. The burgers are made to order so you will be waiting. They are old fashioned 1/8 pound patties so don’t be afraid to get the double or triple. My go to is the double deluxe. They have malts as well as shakes.

Yeah, no thank you for $20. That's one of the literal problems with seattle. No affordable place to go get lunch for the regular working class. All of Seattle is very scarce for affordable lunches. The pizza prices are insane too. I understand inflation I understand overhead. These kind of prices are just absolutely ridiculous.
@MatthewNormКүн бұрын
Where do you live if you mind me asking
@Knives79Күн бұрын
@MatthewNorm I totally respect what you're doing don't get me wrong I'm not trying to talk smack on you. But, no matter where you live those are expensive prices. I know Seattle. I have worked in Seattle. Trust me, I know there is a desert wasteland for affordable lunches in most of Seattle. Especially anywhere between Pike place to the bus terminal on 5th and Jackson. I have a standard to not pay $20 for a burrito or a sandwich. No matter how much money I currently have in my bank account. Seattle rocks. But, this is a major issue. Not enough Blue collar locations for the majority of the public. There are a lot of places down there that have weird hours and cater to tourists more than locals. Currently, I am just about at the edge of city limits of Seattle. I have lived all over the area even Cap Hill.
