Udinski is on the fast track up the coaching ladder because he's (reportedly) very intelligent and has a photographic memory (a-la Sean McVay?). Talking to him stands on it's own merits. The question I'd have is a) can he call plays and b) can he command the room of grown men? Regardless, you don't need to hire him to sign Sam Darnold. Having said that, I really don't see Darnold as being a big upgrade to Geno, other than he's much younger. But I'll concede that if he plays well, you've got your QB for a long time...

To upgrade our back-up QB yes. 👍🏽 maybe allow him to compete for a starting job. Not to replace Geno. Having BOTH on the roster improves the team. Yes ! IF Geno gets hurt or plays poorly then we have a capable back-up. None of this matters if we can’t figure out our offensive line situation. It starts there. Darnold is a lesser version of Geno, you give him protection and playmakers and he can win you some games, but if plays break down and you need him to make plays with his legs and create something out of nothing, Darnold is not it. I believe Geno would have performed better than Darnold in MN with better teammates, better coaching, and better playcalling. If you want to pay Darnold that kind of money for 4 years, Seattle would be better off extending Geno for 2 more years and try to improve the OL and with better OC playcalling. I say Seattle draft 1 or 2 QBs from this class and have him/them learn from Geno in 2025, then the new starting QB can take over in 2026.

Darnold get sacked a lot because he holds the ball too long. Minnesota's o-line was significantly better than ours this year and their wide receivers & TEs were also significantly better. He would get murdered behind our Oline. Want proof? Geno has never taken 9 sacks against the Rams with significantly worse pass protection
