Man the emotions I went through watching this. I was 6 years old when the Sonics won the championship. My family celebrated by driving around downtown and Alki screaming and honking the horn all night. They have always been my favorite team, it broke me and my daughters hearts when they left. Been a void in my life ever since, the sonics will always be near and dear to me. Haven't watched the NBA since they left.....

I really appreciate the time and effort put into this program. It was low key really fun and interesting to just hear those guys gather around and riff and reflect. As someone who's not from Seattle nor old enough to have been alive for their title run, I don't feel like this team gets enough credit nation-wide. This was a special ball club. Also, shout out to John Johnson, Dennis Johnson, and Lonnie Shelton, those who've passed but played such an integral role in this team's legacy.

I dont see the League keeping it at 30 with how Big the game is now than it was the time when the Sonics left & Seattle is one of those Premier Markets that The Country & the World knows now & for the Leagues favor, The Money that the League would make by Bringing the Sonics back & get our History back simular like the Charlotte Hornets did & place a 2nd Expansion team elsewhere that deserves a team.

Lenny Wilkins was a genius of a defensive coach. The way he got his teams to shut down top players like Elvin Hayes in the 79 Finals, and Marques Johnson in the 80 Conference Finals was a joy to behold. I remember before the 97 playoffs when the Pistons were playing the Hawks, I told my Dad “Grant Hill will run wild in this series”, he said “No if Lenny Wilkens has anything to say, he won’t”. Well Grant didn’t run wild, and the same thing happened in the 99 playoffs when the Pistons played the Hawks again!

Oh please be quiet with that talk The NBA has been watered down enough for years where you get one or two good players on a team and they never go anywhere like Damian Lillard You want to make the quality the NBA worse? What's the matter with you? If anything we should be lowering the number of teams, I don't say those cities shouldn't have a team but they should close down some franchises like Washington or Minnesota or Memphis and then moving to the cities that you talked about but more teams what's the matter with you *,,You don't see what's happened to the quality of basketball with guys are on starting teams now they wouldn't even make it into a squad 30 years ago what is the matter with you You don't see what's been going on all these years why you think Michael Jordan won all those rings cuz he didn't know water down league duh ,why do you think he couldn't beat the Lakers the Celtics or the Pistons in there prime because the league was more solid and you want to make it worse please don't say that again ever!

BRING BACK THE SONICS!! The Thunder are NOT the SuperSonics . OKC is the product of David Stern's hatred towards Seattle. Adam Silver is too much of a coward to right this wrong NOW! If the NHL can expand to get in the Seattle market, why can't the NBA do the same???
@HermaphroGynandro5 жыл бұрын
1:18 Seattle only had one professional sports championship before the SuperSonics: The Stanley Cup! The Metropolitans became the first team from the United States to win the trophy of Lord Stanley over a century ago for the 1916-17 season, dethroning the defending champion Montreal Canadiens (whom had just won their first of two dozen championship victories). Why the NHL expansion only NOW chose to grant Seattle a professional hockey team again escapes me. They should've had a team much earlier. This is coming from a Bullets/Wizards and Capitals fan.

The city of Seattle back in 1979 and what it was like to live in Seattle and the overall amplisfer etc.....I would in a heartbeat, trade this current left leaning urban "HELL HOLE" for that city that I was born and raised in ANY DAY!!! I went to my 40yr high school reunion, QA '77 and not to my surprise, I could count on ONE HAND how many of my classmates STILL lived within the city limits, much let alone in King County..... That dose NOT speak well of what has happened to Seattle in the last 4 decades. Infact, former Mayor Charlie Royer was the LAST DECENT Democrat to run the city and EQUALLY IMPORTANT, he had a DAMN GOOD Chief of Police, Patrick Fitzsimmons.....He ENFORCED the LAW!! Nate Got extremely close to his defensive ilk.. but man.. I’m 45 .. not old enough to appreciate the championship teams .. BUT I’ll never forget finally getting tickets “only clippers “ at the time weren’t sold out lol.. but we’d kick their $&&&&& so bad .. Gary , Kemp, Detlef, Perkins were usually pulled .. so I got attached to the CHEF 👨🏻🍳, Ervin Johnson , pookie” 😊😊😊😊.. still can’t watch NBA since they left .. and breaks my heart when we just gave away our history to the Thunder … our passion for our team was taken away and chosen to just let them go by Seattle leadership .. whom I’ll NEVER FORGIVE.. also became extremely attached to Brent Barry .. that dude busted his ass
