SEATTLE TRIP 2024 SERIES - Day 2 / Episode 2
It is Day 2 of our Road Trip to Seattle. After an average breakfast at the Hampton Inn in Redding California, we head over to Shasta Lake for a visit to some unique oddity type attractions, a Giant Orange and the World's Largest Grindstone. It's then a drive through some beautiful Northern California countryside with a quick stop at the O'Brien Rest Area, which has some great views of Shasta Lake and surrounding mountains. We head to the Headwaters of the Sacramento River, which is basically the starting point of the Sacramento River. It's a nice very cold and snow flurry kind of day. We continue on heading North on the 5 Freeway, stop at a quick Vista Point for a view of Mt Shasta, which ends up being a bust, and then continue to the City of Weed, where we enjoy some more snow flurries, and some souvenir shopping. It's a rather entertaining stop. We continue with Weed by stopping at the Weed Rest Stop, which should have some great views of Mt Shasta, but the clouds cover that shot. It's then into the beautiful state of Oregon, and a snow filled mountainous afternoon.
We make a stop at the BBQ House in Medford Oregon, which is basically a small house in the middle of a residential area, but has some great BBQ. They definitely provide a lot of food. It was a nice unexpected stop. We continue north on the 5 Freeway again, making a stop in Cottage Grove to visit five covered bridges - Chambers Covered Railroad Bridge, Centennial Covered Bridge, Currin Covered Bridge, Mosby Creek Covered Bridge, and the Stewart Covered Bridge. Really enjoyed visiting these bridges and learning a little more about the area. We finish today's adventure with our destination stop at the Best Western Premier Boulder Falls Inn Hotel in Lebanon Oregon. We have more to show in the next video about this hotel, but it was one of our favorite and beautiful locations to stay.
Next Up: We finish off our three day road trip by leaving Lebanon and heading to Seattle. Along the way, we make a couple stops at the Oregon and Washington State Capitals, Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, and have a little fun along the way. Our day comes to an end as we reach our final destination in Seattle Washington, and have some Dough Zone dim sum dinner along with some unique shave ice desserts.
