It always amazes me how loud u can be backstage. Why was I being yelled at to be quiet during middle school plays? lol

Its all dependent on the theatre. This is a huge theatre so there's a lot more space and sound barriers, meanwhile in a traditional middle or high school theatre they're a lot smaller and the sound travels much easier. I've been in the audience watching a show at my old high school and during a number where it wasn't exactly quiet I could still hear the ensemble chatting offstage. Meanwhile if I was in a Broadway theatre I likely wouldn't hear that.
