Wow Pip has a better speed going than some of the boats with full healthy rigs.

"Clac, clac, clac..." Me wonders if Conrad's gradual turn to the north and heading due east towards NZ is fueled by a little nostalgia...?

I found up in Wikipedia that Cape Horn or Cabo de Hornos (and now copying from there) was identified by mariners and first rounded in 1616 by the Dutchmen Willem Schouten and Jacob Le Maire, who named it Kaap Hoorn after the city of Hoorn in the Netherlands. That is the reason the English meaning "Horn" and Spanish meaning "Hornos" don't match.

Yeah, the Dutch were renown mariners and the biggest rivals of the British back in the 1600s. Apparently, they built a huge number of ships and believe at one time had the largest trading fleet. Beautiful ships too!

What do you know about Jean Le Cam's trademark "Clack, clack, clack"? Where does it come from? What does he mean?

Pip Hare mentioned in one of her Slow Boat to Melbourne videos that she was shifting all her gear forward to reduce water from coming in from the stern. She mentioned the anchors that were "sealed" in Metallica's port tunnel. Are anchors not allowed in the race? Are they sealed like the engine...disqualifying if used?

@juttaweise6 сағат бұрын
Hejsan Erik, that is his command for his camera to turn in the direction of which he is talking about! Easier to understand, if one knows french, then it makes sense.

Question: What was the reasoning for disallowing the use of 'T foil' rudders, in this edition, given they are known to stabilise foiling boats and do you think we will see them in the 28/29 edition? Cheers and Merry Christmas from Down Under

I already asked the same question in the comments to another video: the answer I got was that in one of the paste Bags it seems that JLC got problems in handling the camera especially when he changed the camera angle and accompanied his attemps to change the view of his camera with this "clack, clack, clack". Seems that he kept this as a kind of tick.@@antoinehanekom4689

In what time zone do the skippers and their land-based crews operate? Do they all change with the skipper's actual location...do they stay in UTC or FR time (UTC+1)?

Still the best coverage! Have you answered the question about the legality of the wings individually being able to vary their pitch to increase stability?
@jamesaron19672 сағат бұрын
You mean foil angle of attack? I believe there's some adjustability there otherwise the yachts would be harder to manage.

Hey, great show I like to watch everyday! You already pointed out, that Charlie's boat is more suitable for lighter conditions, while Yoann's boat is perfect for downwind sailing or Boris' boat for hard conditions. But WHY is that, technically, that Boris is more like the Bowser in Mario Kart, while Charlie is the Mario (the generalist)? Merry christmas!
