I've been an RR/ FIR fan for a longggg time, he's been doing heavy hip hop influences for a really long time, so I think revisiting their old flair for their newer, broader audience is such a smart move. this was so much better than i anticipated! it's been amazing to see FIR evolve over time while still being undeniably FIR. love it. as an ex-con + an addict in recovery myself, i love to see a fellow former hot mess THRIVE.

It might not be "hard" rock but, let's remember that Pink Floyd was one of the first bands to use pre-programed sequences that they synced their shows to. Yes, it wasn't a laptop, it was much bulkier and less streamlined equipment but, they were using backing tracks and video/light-and-sound coordination live long before Mr. Bach was even a thought in his parents' minds. Fair play to FiR for taking a jab at Sebbie's "It's not real rock if it has backing tracks" comments.

Why does this sound like a Tom MacDonald track when he raps? And to add to the whole laptop discussion, traditional rock doesn't need a drum machine or beat generator. The drummer did his or her job on the drum kit. Tom Morello gave the world the technique to use your guitar in a way it sounds like scratchin&mixin and cross fading, all without the need for an extra dj and turntables. I get why laptops are also very important when it comes to the non musical part of stage production. They are used for show lights, song ques, and whatever else that deals with visuals. A TRUE performer, entertainer, musician, or whatever label you want to wear, will still put on a show no matter what.

Not sure I want a huge bang of new rap/metal artists, simply for the amount of skill and talent it takes for an artist to be able to pull it off successfully. Ronnie, and the couple other people whom can pull it off are so few and far between because of the skill it takes, and it it EXTREMELY easy to fuck this up and ruin the entire genre and if the flood gates open with people who don't have the education,talent,charisma,and pure SKILL I'm afraid it will do just that. Make people turn and run from "that type of music" because they're embarrassed to associate with a genre full of people that suck. Listen, LEAVE THIS TO THE PEOPLE THAT CAN DO IT RIGHT, don't get me wrong, I love this sound and would love to see more from different artist but only if they have the ability to get it done right, and I just don't think it's something alot of people can handle. When it comes to the laptop, I didn't have an issue with them needing one to perform. I guess my one critique about it was, why can't his drummer do a beat similar? He has an entire band performing on stage, couldn't they have a backup "beat" as a band? I feel like it can't be that complicated to pull off but I could be completely wrong. Great video though, not a FIR fan personally but that transition from him rapping to a rock melody was amazing.
