Here we see ground zero of the North Haverbrooke Monorail massacre. All the townspeople are heavily affected by tragedy caused by the greed of a con man.

@@ladyfire44What I want to know is how did they know his plane would land there and that he would be in it? I read somewhere that Marge tipped them off, so how could she have known about it for that matter? Is this one of those plot holes we should go along with and just see it as a joke? Or is there something I'm really missing here? I don't get it

@@midwings00 I feel like she usually is though? Can't speak for modern Simpsons but during golden age the only episode I can think of her having a particular quirk (other than her usual over-the-top devotion to family) is the gambling addiction episode, and that's pretty grounded in a depressing way. Really it's a wonder she didn't go insane like Frank Grimes.

He does briefly appear in an episode where the old monorail track is repurposed as an overground walkway. Mayor Quimby turns on the lights, but the current jumps to the circuitry of the old monorail, which is subsequently activated, and takes off, killing pedestrians in its path, unfortunately including Sebastian Cobb, before derailing and destroying a statue in Leonard Nimoy’s honour.
