Sebastian Stan has to be one of the most versatile actors out there. His range is INSANE.

Why do I just not see that? He's not a bad actor, but I wouldn't say he's the most versatile
@Tara.
@Tara. 2 ай бұрын
@@Not_Always I would say so, he lost a bunch of his Marvel muscle to play Tommy Lee. He just played a handsome cannibal to a disfigured man and now gained weight to play Trump. He also played Jeff in I’Tonya with Margot Robbie. Every role he has is just so different than the last- not just appearance wise but accents too.
@Not_Always
@Not_Always 2 ай бұрын
@Tara. changing appearances doesn't equate to being a versatile actor. If you have seen most of his roles, he doesn't go too far from that, range-wise. He might not claim to be, but he very much subscribes to method acting, instead of just acting in many roles. Sorry, but every role he plays he never loses himself enough for me to forget who I am watching.

That, I will 100% agree with. He's been overdue for an oscar for at least a decade long now. I saw 3 of his movies once, & found out after that the 3 different characters he played were all the same actor. I thought there's no ****ing way he can be that convincibly opposite. He's a modern day Daniel Day-Lewis. Where I still don't know what Daniel's actual personality is, because he's so good at acting as other people.

I was excited for this film because I think Roy Cohn is a fascinating character. I’m not a fan of Donald Trump and this movie didn’t change my opinion on him, but this is a movie I could watch over and over again stylistically it was great. The performances were incredible, Jeremy Strong deserves a supporting actor nomination because it was absolutely spot on brilliant. Again, like I said, I don’t like Donald Trump and this movie didn’t change my mind about him, but it definitely humanized him. the scenes with his brother were especially sad to watch.

Some of the research on this film was quite shoddy. For instance, Abraham Beane was an old crony of Fred Trump's from the early 1940s where they worked together in the old Madison Democratic club. During the war they took many trips together down to Virginia where Fred Trump made a fortune building housing for the naval construction workers. The idea that Trump needed Roy Cohn's services to get Beane on his side (as the movie showed) is simply ridiculous. The movie also overstates to an absurd degree Cohn's influence on Trump. The biggest influence on Trump was his father who had the same tactic of deny, deny, deny and if you lie enough eventually whatever you say will become the truth. The film's portrayal of Fred Trump as someone who constantly tried to belittle Donald couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, he always praised Donald to the skies and overlooked his faults. Unlike most successful businessmen he was happy to let Donald take all the credit for things that he couldn't have accomplished without Fred. I just wonder if they got two such basic things wrong what else they are misportraying.

2 things i’d say after seeing it- there’s a level of looking at DJT in this movie and thinking he’s cool and others wouldn’t get that from this movie. The second thing is I can tell this was method acted but ironically they needed to either do more or less here. Like they at times took themselves just too seriously- they're goofballs and even they didn't take themselves that seriously in life. Donald Trump in a sense knows he's a dope.

jeremy strong was great as roy cohn, but tbh this movie was absolute trash - way to paint trump, an undeniably sociopathic and malignant narcissist, as a "human guy just trying to make his way in a big ol' world". absolutely gross and cringe af, literally watch any interview with trump in the 80s or 90s and its unbelievably obvious how much of a self-centred sociopath he is - it's harmful when stoopid people paint favourable examples of terrible tyrants - trump is hitler 2.0, and ya'll made a moronic movie that glazed him for 2 hours - seriously poor form here, ya'll should be ashamed.
