Hi everyone, sorry if my voice is a little croaky at times in this video, I'm just recovering from a cold. The next video (coming later today) will be the first integration episode -- importing what we've created thus far into the Unity project that Brackeys has been working on. Since that video will be uploaded as part of the gameplay playlist, I'll leave a link to it here once it's up. Next up in this graphics playlist we'll be creating clothes, armour, and weaponry for our character.

You really want to bring that back arm further back (and bend it more). It'll really help sell the amount of effort being put into running. When training to run, I was taught that the arm swinging backward is the main driver for speed. Even if you're not going for a skilled speedy person, it'll still make it look better.

If someone can't find their bones after putting them on a different layer, try to find one of the bone parts in the object menu to the right, under Armature - Armature - Hips etc. Then you should end up on the armature page, and look at layer visibility and make sure it's all greyed.

Hello. I have a question. Does these walking and running animations work for multiple characters? I want to be able to choose between different characters with the same animations, so if I create the walking/running animations in blender for this base mesh, and then create different meshes in Blender for the other characters (with the same rigging) will I be able to apply the animations from the base to every character in Unity? Thanks

I had this problem too, and I just watched closely in this video and caught where I was going wrong. He selects all items in the action editor, then Ctrl + C. He then goes to frame 9, and places his mouse cursor over the 3D View. This was the main part I missed out. With his cursor over 3D View, he presses CTRL + SHIFT + V and pastes the flipped model. Then you press i to insert the keyframes. Hope this helped. :)

Hi, newbie here.How do you make the model actually move from point A to point B ? It seems to walk but stays at one place ?
@quintusthegnome74294 жыл бұрын
You could move the whole model manually for each key-frame, but movement is not what blender is for. You should do the actual motion in the game engine, like unity. Blender animations are just for positioning the 3d model's joints.

@Theppo1016 жыл бұрын
Make sure you input the new keyframes after you changed frames. If two frames have the same coordinates and rotation, there won't be any animation. Save the first frame, then go back to the eight, make the changes and input the new keyframe. If you accidentally forget to input the new keyframe and click a new one, you'll just erase any changes you just made.

weird... ctrl+shift+V does not work for me when copying the step to complete the cycle...
@SebastianLague7 жыл бұрын
When you copied with crl+C did you have all keyframes selected + all bones selected in dopesheet summary + cursor placed over the dopesheet window? If the shortcuts aren't working, you can also try using the buttons. Just expand the dopesheet window a bit and you'll see them on the far right along the bottom bar.
@SharpData7 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. You need to copy with ctrl+C on the dopesheet and not on the 3D viewer. Than, simply paste using ctrl+shift+V

My head goes back and forth as he runs how can i disable this?
@Theppo1016 жыл бұрын
If you have any keyframes that you accidentally added without meaning to, just select the head and remove the unnecessary frames from the dopesheet. Now in case that you managed to mess up while weight painting and assigned some vertices to the head on some other bone, just make sure you remove the connection between those bones. I would say check the dopesheet and erase any keyframes attached to the head and the neck, then re-do them accordingly.

I know this might not be your field but I think you should do more research on animation (I.e classic Disney animation) before putting this video out. The tutorial overall has improved, but the animation itself looks just as pathetic as the last one you did. But anyway, this is more of a Blender tutorial than an animation tutorial so I guess I'm just being fussy.

I have to disagree with this. Brevity and simplicity is what makes this series so great. I get frustrated by tutorials that produce an absolutely perfect result that i can never even hope to achieve simply because i lack experience and practice (and will never have enough time to achieve it). This right here is perfect teaching material for beginners because the result is actually achievable by people.
