Don't get carried away. This is not real reason ,it's something else. This person's explanation is just the explanation that sebi and nse wants you to believe. In truth it's about internal politics and big fish brokers trying to nudge out small and medium level brokers and about who owns options space.

Main Reason : due to huge participation of retail investors so called robinhood investors since lockdown ...now its not so easy 4 institutional traders to move mkt as per their will so they have to infuse much more capital still their profitability continue reducing....but they know that retail traders only weakness is less capital so indirectly they bribe sebi to introduce such type of stupid rule ....result...low volume...less volatility...mkt will remain rangebound most of the time..again much higher profit potentiality in option selling as they have not any capital restrictions....as always...small fishes always eaten by big fishes
