Scott’s book is actually something you can preorder now. It’s dropping early September. My favorite funny moments were Scott’s audiobook, Quaz’s powers, and M.O.D.O.F.K. Three things in particular that I liked about this film: 1.) Scott and Hope now have portable suits. 2.) No matter the situation, Scott’s driving force is his daughter Cassie. 3.) The final fight between Scott/Ant-Man vs. Nathaniel/Kang. They didn’t say her codename, but Cassie in her suit is known as Stature. I feel like the citrus scene is a callback to Scott needing orange slices after getting a double whammer from Iron Man and War Machine. We didn’t get to see Scott’s friends in this movie, but Veb was portrayed by David Dastmalchian - the same actor who portrayed Kurt. Parts of this movie gave me Star Wars, Guardians, TRON: Legacy, and Avatar vibes all at once. The first post-credit scene showcases the Council of Kangs. The three variants that spoke in order of appearance were Rama-Tut, Centurion, and Immortus. There was one variant who teleported wearing a suit and tie. He’s known as Mr. Gryphon. This paves the way to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. What I’m about to say is a rumor. I’d take it with a grain of salt, but in the event that they end up making a second season of Moon Knight they’ll consider making Rama-Tut the next main villain. As for the second post-credit scene, I don’t know if Victor Timely is a member of the council and I definitely don’t know if Mobius regained his memories or not, but for now I’ll take comfort knowing he and Loki are working together again. The adventure continues in Loki season 2 this September.

In the comics Victor Timely is a variation of the conqueror Kang who goes back in time and hides under the VT identity and takes over the town to turn it into his city so he can keep on doin his thing. I think the plan is for him to end up being Mr. Gryphon, the one who bought avengers tower in present day, owner of Qeng Enterprises. Hella On the nose

This movie doesn't deserve the hate it has. BTW, you can buy Scott's book! They release in September, but I already bought mine! Hope I get it signed by Paul Rudd someday 14:38 That it's not about the budget, MODOK is supposed to look weird and goofy, he's literally a flying head. 28:23 Kang wasn't at his full power and a normal ant is pretty strong... we just have to imagine how strong would those ants be, especially with their technology. The ants' strength is actually common knowledge but people forget that they have the ability to carry between 10 and 50 times their own body weight, some 100 times

21:17 yes Kang’s “powers” is all from technology. He’s in reality just a human man, whose real name is Nathaniel Richards (distant descendant of Reed Richards). But his intelligence and super advanced tech/weapons is what makes him so dangerous. Which is part of why he “lost” in this movie, because he didn’t have all his tech at his disposal (primarily the Time Chair). Without the Chair, he can’t access the time stream. But I firmly believe this Kang survived. We don’t see a dead body, and he basically just shrinks down similarly to how Darren did before coming MODOK. I think whatever happened there, in some capacity set Kang to be truly free and THAT specific variant will return as THE big bad of Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. He’s THE Kang the Conqueror for a reason. In the comics, Victor Timely from the second post credit scene isn’t necessarily a variant of him, but it’s actually Kang in disguise establishing his empire earlier on in time. He uses Timely as a front while he acts as Kang the Conqueror behind the scenes, aka Kang Prime. But I think they set it up for Kang Dynasty to be about this Kang returning not only to defeat our heroes, but also for his ultimate revenge against the Council of Kang’s. And part of why I think he hates them so much aside from banishing him, is that we’ll learn one of these variants somehow got his lover, Ravonna Renslayer, killed. And that’s what he meant when he told Janet “you have no idea what I’ve lost”

Kang was absolutely the best part of this movie, I'm excited to see where they go with him, even though there's some...not great things going on with Jonathan Majors right now. MODOK is actually pretty damn comic accurate in this movie - he literally is a big head. He's meant to be a very VERY goofy character, so I thought they did the best they could bringing him to live action. The bad VFX almost seems purposeful to add to the silliness. Him being Darren is a very different origin story though. I really do like the Star Wars influence in this movie, even though the green screen is very noticeable. This movie got destroyed by critics and for the most part, I don't think it deserved it that much. It definitely wasn't my favorite MCU project, but it was still entertaining. Just wait till you see Guardians Vol. 3 though, straight up masterpiece.

Kang was a lot better in Loki... I felt his appearance in this movie was really disappointing. I mean, I like Jonathan Majors and all. And I actually enjoyed the film well enough unlike a lot of people. But... from Kang... I was expecting better. He just wasn't written or used very well. The movie repeatedly falls afoul of the one sin of writing that they always teach you to avoid first in creative writing: show don't tell. Over and over they tell you how dangerous and powerful and devious and ingenious etc etc Kang is... but... they rarely actually *show* him being any of those things. He seems overall pretty weak, petty, unimaginative, and easily beaten. Basically loses 1-on-1 to Antman. Very, very, very much unlike the first proper appearance of Thanos in the MCU that we saw in Infinity War, where he put the Hulk on his ass, easily bested Thor and in fact all of Asgard, and killed Loki - the main antagonist of the first Avengers film - all within his first few minutes of screen time. I don't care how many times the writers TELL you through dialogue that a character is smart or dangerous or powerful... (I am reminded of the god awful script from Star Trek Into Darkness) if the above things aren't DEMONSTRATED... discerning audience members won't be convinced. and in fact a good writer will do all of the latter with little to none of the former. Relying on the former to establish a character trait is downright lazy writing. Anyway... Loki got me super pumped to actually see more of Kang in the MCU... and that hasn't been totally killed off by this film so I'm hoping they do more and better with him going forward.

This movie was okay but the worstabout about it was Casie. They did a huge mistake recasting her. In endgame , the actress only said “dad” and has us bawling. Ah yes, the shy kid who covered for her dad and blocked the door against the FBI, had a pet giant ant, had dialogues like "Hope you don't catch him" (to the cop stepdad in reference to Scott), wanted to be Scott's partner in crime fighting, etc. I think this is exactly how I imagine Cassie to be as a grownup, especially in her teen rebellious phase. Also, the other Cassie looked way too old to fit the role. Most people didn't mind or feel it because it was only for one scene and it was an emotional scene. But if she had to take the center stage, I'm sure that would be an issue. I think casting wise and character wise this Cassie is perfect.

You could argue that what Thanos was trying to do was selfless because he had seen first hand what things like overpopulation and even selfishness could do to negatively impact society. He wanted to see life prosper but went about it completely wrong because he is, in fact, mad. The Mad Titan. Kang’s reason are completely selfish and he’s lived for so long and experienced so much that he can’t help but be arrogant and be guided by said arrogance. The Kangs compete against each other for superiority and that’s what makes them so dangerous. They don’t care who gets caught in the middle of it.

I like what you pointed out about Cassie suddenly being a genius and inventing quantum Realm tech. Tony Stark was an unparalleled genius, Spider-Man kinda builds with his stuff and learns a lot from him and is a genius in his own right. Rocket Raccoon is a genetically altered genius too. Then they introduce Shuri and it’s like sure she’s the genius princess with vibranium tech, then the new girl in the black panther movie, and Cassie like it’s just annoying how they throw the genius attribute around and like everyone and their mother has Iron Man’s nano tech. It just feels less special when everyone is given this genius intellect and super crazy tech out of no where. I miss the iron man montages and story telling for that stuff

I want to be good faith and say you're just not happy with how this is treated as normal in the continuity of the MCU now, which I'd somewhat understand, but technically we haven't even met the "smartest man alive" yet so you've got more random geniuses coming whether you like it or not, every other comic character ever has some "unbeatable" or "genius" attribute lol this is not shocking... Its because the writing is terrible, the new caracthers rarely work or feel like a lazy replacement for a loved one. The humor has declined alot, Marvel are trying to hard to make everyone happy and tend to make movies and series too political when they shouldnt be. And the overall message in Marvel movies now is imo laughable. Plenty of caracthers get excused for what they do because they have trauma, and some other caracthers who have depression etc just get piled and clowned instead. Imo the MCU has gone downhill fast and numbers show that. I guess the movies arent terrible, but they arent good either

As u said yourself, u are not common with the comics so you can't know about the Council of Kangs. The plot is not irrelevant. Kang you saw in the movie is the original Kang The Conqueror and he's not dead, he's just trapped and he will most likely come back. So basically the Council of Kangs are the strongest and smarter variants of Kang. The three Kangs are called: Immortus, Scarlet Centurion and Rama-Tut. These three variants could be the real threats in Avengers 5, but we will see about that. Having the Phase 6 Avengers team fight thousands of Kangs would be unfair, but three of them are more manageable. I'm sure they will figure it out. The ending seeing all these variants of Kangs is straight from the comics, you can check it out. Also Modok is comic accurate too. I mean he's supposted to look goofy, you can't really fix it or make him look better, he's like that - big head. I definetly enjoyed the movie. Yes, it's not something to blow your mind, but it was a fun movie and i don't really get all this hate the movie gets. The whole story of Quantumania obviously serves to set up the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, there's one specific plot point that also heavily foreshadows the plot of the Multiverse Saga's grand finale, Secret Wars. So yeah, the movie was fun for me i give it 7/10.

No BS, at the final part of the Multiversal Saga people will be routing for Kang, or saying that Kang is right, like as Kang said that the other versions of him and the rest of those things, they will destroy the timelines, or the incusions will destroy the Universes and timelines anyway, so there is no real way to save the people that Janet mentions, because they are all going to die anyways, and so they would be left with a, "it's either they die, or everyone dies," kind of situation, where sacrificing a few lives and universes means and ensures the survival of everyone else, or at least save as much as can be saved, because in this situation with Kang and the incursions and all that not everyone can be saved. Janet mentions that Kang doesn't care about anything or anyone, but even if he doesn't care about saving anyone, he would still be doing that, and it is the only way.

Proxi To play Mephisto’s advocate, Kang was already put at a huge disadvantage by being down in the QR without the power to his Time Chair. At the end of the day, Nathaniel Richards is just a man. A man who is incredibly intelligent with access to incredibly advanced and dangerous tech, but still a man. And given he didn’t have arguably THE most important tech of his throughout the film, meaning he didn’t have access to the time stream, then he’s limited in that regard

MODOK has a very comic accurate design, but i think it would’ve been better if he had the mask on most of the movie and only reveal at the end with more disfigured face, and not kill him off (save his brain at least, like in the comics). Otherwise I quite enjoyed the movie. Kang was awesome, and the visuals were mostly good. Kinda gave me Star Wars vibes.

Yes MODOK is suppose to look like that from the comics, but I actually like this origin for his appearance, better than the comics. In the MCU its from a malfunctioning shrinking device but in the comics his creators pretty much wanted him to look like that. For some reason. In defense of Janet, she had PTSD. PTSD sufferers often have trouble with talking about the event(s) that caused the trauma in the first place. Basically it forces the sufferer to re-experience it in full. In the MCU Tony would collapse in the fetal mode at the mention of his trauma. Janet just goes silent. Both are real life expressions of PTSD found in the real world. But everyone just yells at Janet for it. The absolute worse thing to do. Its like telling a paraplegic to just get up on their feet already. Bu then America does not do mental health very well. I'm glad Marvel has taking a leading role in getting more acceptance for mental health issues in general as PTSD(Janet, Hulk, Tony) and multiple personality disorder(Hulk and Moon Knight) is fairly common among its heroes. As far as Scott "saving" the planet...well he did help get the idea rolling by telling them what he experienced. Then Bruce and Tony took it too the next level and both had a "hand" in saving the universe. Wasp and Antman both helped out but without Hank Pym none of this would have been even remotely possible. Scott is acting like Tony and Bruce weren't even a factor, which is total B.S. and his family is calling him out on that. Not just Cassie. I agree with them. Scott does tend to get a bit big headed and not see he's about to stumble some times(and that got him in prision- not consdidering he'd get caught and lose time with his daughter.) As far how did Cassie get so smart? You think she read Hank's research without his permission? No one takes his stuff without his OK. Not even SHIELD.can get away with that. He's obviously mentoring her. And as he's the smartest person shown on Earth 616 so far she has a better education than even Tony got. Howard(very briefly) and Tony both had the Pym particles and studied them but neither could duplicate them. Even with the universe to save and figuring out time travel in a few hours. Hank came up with nanotech independent from Tony or Shuri. So hanging around him should have rubbed off. Plus both her parents are smart engineers-not Tony level, but not average minds either(her step dad's salary wouldn't even cover half the cost of that house in L.A. so her Mom is making big bucks). Why is Cassie being smart so shocking? She should be above Spidey in IQ based on her upbringing. In earlier movies she was shown to already be thinking outside the box for someone her age. Antman 1 hinted at this. Antman 2 showed she was already planning to be a superhero and fight for others and already kinda being trained by Scott for that. Cassie in Antman 3 is exactly where her character has been heading. But I'm glad you did enjoy the movie despite these things.
@stevenjump8234

It's sexism pure and simple. Women can't possibly be that smart. So Janet, Jennifer( She-Hulk) , Cassie get crap for it. Like Captain Marvel got roasted for being arrogant , but Iron Man is celebrated for it.

I really like this movie tbh. The cinematography is stunning, story could be better sure but still great and Kang is just beast (defenetly one of my Top MCU villains already) and I hope we will see this variant again in Kang’s dynasty because I don’t think he is really dead DEAD. Also the MODOK is weird but he actualy looks like that in comics and cartoons (but at least the full mechanical version of him with the mask looks dope). To me this is the best Antman movie, it really feels like MCU and Star Wars movie in one to me and I’am all here for it.

Gadawzky yes this Kang will definitely be back. He’s THE Kang the Conqueror, who’s Kang Prime. Not to mention they fleshed out his character and motivations fairly well in this movie, while also teasing further motivations hidden deeper in him. They’ve set it up for where Kang Dynasty is about this Kang returning not only for revenge against our heroes, but also the Council. And so when he wipes the floor with ALL of them, it’ll be insane to watch
