Glad to see you're having a great time with this game! I'm having fun with it as well, but I haven't unlocked Elite Smash yet even though I have 900K GSP with my favorite characters. But to be honest, that's fine by me, since Elite Smash has very good players and I'm still practicing.

I think Ike's jab 1 can lock the opponent. Maybe try going for that after a move that sends your opponent into a tech situation, like fair. Then you can follow up with a dtilt and combo from there.
