SEC Fight Songs Ranked (Updated)

I wasn’t going to make this till next year but I’ve been sick lately and really needed something to cheer myself up.
I know a few of them aren’t the official fight songs of certain universities but I chose the ones I like.
With Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC, I made this updated ranking of the SEC fight songs. This conference might be the hardest to rank.
All logos and fight songs belong to their respective universities. I do not own any of it, this is simply for entertainment purposes only.

The Bands playing these Fight songs are what make college football so exciting. I remember big plays to win or lose games because the Fight Song being played at that very moment. Sometimes it's great while other times heart sinking.

Mizzou is strange. They actually have two fight songs. Every True Son and Fight Tigers. If I am correct, they play one after the other.

We do! Every True Son is based off the Irish song, its a long way to Tipperary, after ww1 mizzou vets who fought with Irish soldiers changed the lyrics to be our 1st fight song. Fight tiger was created after ww2 when faculty noticed campus morale was low, so they held a competition for a fight song! Fight tiger won but instead of replacing every true son we just have 2! We play every true son after the touchdown and fight tiger after the field goal or 2 pt conversion. Personally I like every true son more but most ppl prefer fight tiger, either way mizzou should definitely be number 1 on this list but I may be a bit biased

These lists are mostly a matter of taste and personal experiences. However, I have a hard and fast rule. If your main fight song is a total ripoff of an old popular song, you go directly to the bottom of the list. There is no comp between that and an original song composed by a student or an alumnus. That being said, on to the hall of shame- Oklahoma- pitiful ripoff of Yale (Boola-Boola) Georgia- DO BETTER than a Yankee war hymn from you know when. Carolina- Ripping off an old show tune? Please. Tennessee- Yes, you always say that Rocky Top isn't your fight song, but RT is all we ever hear. Texas- I know I'm being hard on you, but we all know that Texas Fight is a thinly disguised take on The Eyes of Texas. Don't @ me. I'm willing to die on this hill.

With Respect of course = I played trumpet in a Texas high school. Our 2nd band director ( LSU Music School alum) basically made me quit when he told me that I would "never make it to be one of UT's 64 trumpets. You have to audition. He told me that I was a great marcher and that I should go to A&M ( I SHOULD HAVE) because there's no audition and "they only play 7 to 9 of the same exact songs per year, and you'll be great there because it's highly disciplined" etc. He said UT plays new sheet music all year long, with up to 20 new songs per year. True. Hate to admit. At the time, I was a Longhorn. I say this with respect = Their song is very very hard. I could not play the trumpet interlude solo at all, and they go high as heck for the into with triple-tounging and FFF blasts that match their French Horns and Bones. It pissed me off and gave me resentments. But it's not just TAPS sped up by any means. ( I was able to play the Aggie songs = incl Patton and Noble Men of Kyle, by my Freshman Year. Sorry just being honest. ) Quit the band. Left. Graduated from Michigan State. Came home a Spartan. Not a Longhorn. But that band still gives me resentments. They are very very good. They only practice 5.5 hours per week. That's insane. I wish my school's band played Zeppelin and Garth Brooks and Willie Nelson and the Beatles. Nope. Just mostly Spartan Marches. Oh well. ( Again = NOT just Taps sped up) Gig Em.
