It isn’t so much that Alabama has three losses as it is how they lost. Getting physically beat in all three phases of the game is a measure of any team, and that is how Alabama lost to both OU and Vandy.

This is SEC trouble. Georgia loses to GT and to Texas in the SEC Championship gives Georgia 4 losses - Clemson beats Gamecocks which is their 4th - Tenn loses to Vandy to be their 3rd - Bama loses to Auburn for their 4th - Ole Miss loses to Miss St for their 4th. None of that would be that crazy.

The SEC is not "in trouble". For god's sake people... stop manufacturing a crisis where there isn't one. They will at least have 3 of the 12 team field. That's 25% of the entire playoff field! Breaking News... Bama is not one of the top 12 teams in the country this year. If the SEC enthusiasts want as much preferential treatment as they are screaming for... just go off and have your own league instead of being part of a 134 team system. And let's be honest, Bama has benefited from this system many years and often got into playoffs or championship games much to the dismay of many people and at the cost of other, more worthy teams in that given year. As for Indiana, if you were to look at the schedule on paper, at the beginning of the year, it looked really tough. They played the two teams in last year's national championship game, plus Ohio St. There are so many sports shows and podcasts now, it's really affecting the nature of the coverage. Creating stories where they wouldn't otherwise exist.

Three teams for any one conference are MORE THAN ENOUGH -- it's 25% of the entire field being hogged by 1 conference. And if the BIG 10 is allowed to get 4 teams into the playoffs (they shouldn't), that's 33.3333% of the entire field. Sorry, but merely 2 conferences SHOULD NOT be able to account for over half of all playoff slots IMO.

The problem is that all teams should have an equal or close to an equal schedule so we do t have these ?s in the air. All conferences should have to play top notch SEC teams. The season scheduling needs to be consistent / better across the board if all of these teams are aiming for the same national championship.

The SEC is like the NFC East. We are being penalized for playing tough teams. Bottom line is you can’t circle a win in the SEC. THE SEC IS A REVENUE BUILDER DURING THE REGULAR SEASON. But we have ruined ourselves by adding more talented teams. We should just play cupcakes and ease our way into the playoffs! No one wants to see that. You can’t penalize an Ole Miss or Bama for playing good teams on the road. FL and OU has 4 and 5 stars on their rosters. And can compete with anyone in the country on a good day.

@@aaronlampkin284 I think the difference now is that he's got a willing accomplice in B1G's Petiti and the media backing to pay for more B1G-SEC games. He can make the argument that its in the best financial interest of the P2 conferences to play difficult opponents because the TV revenue it will generate. He will then argue that the CFP's committee does not significantly take into account strength of schedule and believes in a false notion of parity between the P2 conferences and the other conferences. Then, he will give an ultimatum to the CFP to either "reform" itself in 2026 or the B1G-SEC will have to "reconsider" its options for 2026 and beyond. Remember nothing is settled in terms of the CFP after next season.

100% agree with you. Not sure why everyone is getting so worked up. Aside from Ole Miss, I wouldn't place anyone else above Alabama. Bama's in a tough spot. They'd have to move up 2 spots to number 11 to make it to the playoff and they have one last rivalry game against a 6-loss Auburn team to do it which wouldn't be enough. They'd also need 2, maybe 3 upsets in the top 12 to be back in the mix.
