This song hit me in a way I hate to admit. My father was that drunk. I was the one hiding. My mom trying to defuse the situation, only got her hit, the screaming wakes me up, it's been 17 years since they split, I still hear their voices, like nails on a chalk board. My father never quit drinking and mom committed suicide 10 years ago. Second Chaynce has saved me with your music. It brings me comfort, I'm not alone.

I totally agree. I grew up watching it and sadly grew up and let the thing I swore growing up I would never let happen happen to me. I've been thru hell and back and I've tried not letting it change my heart...but there's a moment when u realize that as the victim you have to let it stop. I pray for every one of us out there that have or is going thru this. I've accepted the worst from people. The first time it turned physical I should have left then. These bruises heal but my heart is permanently scarred. Nobody should be ok with being the punching bag for an alcoholic, or an unhappy person, narcissist...whatever they may be. And the worst part...I know that when they hit me they didn't love me...and I stayed 😣😫

I so love this song. Once married to an alcoholic this is all to true. After our divorce I still was his best friend and anytime he cried for help I was always running to save him from whatever he messed up. Finally our youngest is 16 and her dad has cleaned up his act. He has been sober for roughly 3 years now and we know have shared parenting I will continue to rewind his positive changes he still continues to make. Have to say I am beyond proud of him.
