Another excellent full day fishing adventure on Pine Creek and a tributary catching an Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout. After years to mystery and seclusion, I found myself at Miller Run, a small tributary stream of Pine Creek with NO road access and dilapidated hiking trail access. After questionable parking near the Pine Creek Rail Trail and a mile of wading/fishing up Pine Creek, I finally made it to Miller Run. This small stream was incredibly untouched and felt unspoiled. Excellent pools and small waterfalls yielded some great Native Brookies and even a Wild Brownie. Keep exploring, don't settle, and you may find some great fishing opportunities in unexpected places (also apologies for poor fish handling skills, I've gotten better since this trip).

Pretty cool video, but looks like an opportunity to work on your catch and release. We'd all like to have a chance to fish these areas so we all need to do the most we can to make sure we take care of the fish there. It's best for the trout if you don't hang them on the line and don't drop them when releasing them. A net makes that a lot easier, obviously harder to handle w/o one. Edited to try and not sound like as much of a d-bag.

Hey guy. Nice brookies you caught in Miller run. Something to keep in mind when fishing such a small run in low water. All those large brookies were put at risk and some most likely died. You handled them well and wet your hands but when you deposited them downstream out of their pool in shallow water with no cover they were put at risk. I understand why you did it as to not spook and ruin the hole. I done that in higher water as well. Grab a good net for the bigger pine creek trout too. Keep on exploring pine creek with your rod. I certainly love doing the same, and keep the videos coming.

I thought the same. You should release them back to the same hole. Most likely spawning in that hole and releasing them outside of that hole into shallow water didn't help the spawn

Those were some really nice brookies from a small stream...no, anywhere..well, maybe except Labrador CAN. Anywhere in the lower 48 those are WOW very nice brook trout! Love the fall colors on some of those fish. I would not name that creek. Next time you go there you might find yourself fishing behind 5 other guys. Just say'n. I am in SC so hot spotting creeks in PA doesn't matter to me but ya might want to ponder that. Several of my favorite creeks have been ruined by internet exposure. From blue line brook trout creeks to large warm water bass rivers (3 lb smallies) I've seen fishing pressure exponentially increase over just a year or 2 cause someone made a video and named the spot.. Something to consider. Dude, love your videos! Just subbed.

Congrats my guy youve found the most beautiful wide and deep section of pine creek which just so happens to be the most secluded, miller run also happens to be the prettiest tributary IMO, there are 3 cabins directly accross the creek from the mouth of miller run, my family is responsible for two of them, that place is my second home. We have a much different technique for fishing those holes, im suprised you were able to get ANY going after those holes the way you did. Now im not so sure i want to give away my methods on the internet but i will say that these fish are so easily spooked that if they even see you (wich they did) they will hide, i can sit there and run the same hole all day long getting a fish on every line i drop, sometimes the same one but mostly always a different one, that stretch on the actual creek has areas great for amazing rainbows, areas for cattys, areas for bass and rock bass, it truly is a wonder theres even some absolutey massive carp if your into that kind of thing not to mention the occasional palimino or hellbender

Wat does class A mean?.
@TravelingTroutCo
@TravelingTroutCo 4 жыл бұрын
Good question. Without looking it up, Class A is an PA Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) classification which essentially indicates that a trout fishery maintains enough natural reproduction for stocking to be unnecessary. In PA, these are typically Wild Brown Trout, Native Brook Trout, or in rare instances Wild Rainbow Trout streams which receive the Class A designation. These are my favorite streams and are indicative of the health/vitality of the watershed..

@@randelldickerson6147 Class A Class B and Class C or Class 1 2 or 3 goes kinda like this.. Class A need's no stocking and has good natural reproduction. Class B has little natural reproduction and need's stocking. Class C has no natural reproduction and is entirely stocked fish.

Dude just switch over to fly fishing. I’ve seen you fly fish in other videos and you’re basically just streamer fishing with that spinning rod. You can do that all day with a fly rod plus nymphing and dry flies. I know I’m not telling you anything new but you can fish more techniques for trout on a fly rod aside from bait fish imitators and it’s just more fun and rewarding. And this is coming from someone who used to fish for trout primarily with spinning rods and now I don’t even know where my spinning rod is. Just sayin’
