As you may or may not know, the bible is a "collection" of books. From what I understand there are other "books" that were written but not included in the bible. IIRC there is a book that describes the youth of Jesus and he was savage. Murdering his best friend and then bringing back was just one of many miracles that he performed as a child.

The part about child Jesus was not in the bible however there were some "ancient texts" that described something similar. So maybe that part of the comic was based on that.
