Barshim is the only reason why I began to tune into men's high jump.

Can't believe he'll be 33yrs old @Paris '24, time flies! With Eleven 2.40m+ jumps to his name, only WR Holder Sotomayor (17) has more in history with no one else in double figures. Unfortunately hasn't jumped >2.39m since 2018, and after picking up the WC Bronze medal in Budapest (losing to Tamberi but more importantly losing his 4th consecutive meet vs talented youngster Ju'Vaughan Harrison), will he be able to pick up at least one more Gold medal in what will likely be his last two Global Champs in Paris '24 & Tokyo '25?!

Barshim is a ufo, he deserves so much and clearly could jump 2.45, no problem for him, just a question of D Day. So sympathetic and humble an athlete, as well for the ukrainian Bondarenko, also a good man.
