This video outlines how to ride second level test 1 2019 version. We go through movement by movement and demonstrate how to ride each movement and what the judge is looking for in each. Second level requires collected trot and collected canter as well as medium trot and medium canter.

It seems as if you pick up the canter early before A going in both directions? Also going backwards seems the letter is at the tip of the horses head. I was taught that we should make the transition when our shoulder reaches the letter. Is this wrong?

Hi Amelia, you’re test videos and explanations are so helpful! I watch them over and over again. I have a question though about a movement in this test. That last right lead canter from walk at A to B I think seems so random. What is the purpose of it? I just know that’s what I’m going to miss in a show.

So to confirm there are no lengthening trot/canter movements in this test. Medium is Not lengthening. Thank you!
