Why feel sorry for idiots that built a wooden structure in a fire zone!!!
@VintageLPs26 күн бұрын
@@michaelellringer5600These were mobile homes. See all the metal? By your way of thinking, no one in the western United States should build a home. Had the officials kept the reservoirs full, the firemen would have had water to fight the fires in this area. Also, public officials were responsible to keep the vegetation under control. Lastly, the extreme Santa Ana winds coupled with the lack of rain made for the perfect storm. No one deserves to lose a home and/or a business, not to mention a life. If nothing else, you should at least have compassion for all the domestic animals home alone who died and the wildlife.

I don't know what to say other than this is so devastating and it seems to me that if they were better prepared as I would think they should have been with Firemen, and water; some of this could have been avoided. Happens every year. So sad. I hope the people find the strength to get through this. Thanks❤🙏❤

The damage from the Palisades Fire alone probably starts about $5B but I'd bet it will end up over $10B. With the other fires CA could be looking at $20B to maybe $40B. Many of the homes in Pacific Palisades are $4M to start and go up from there. The mobile homes will be much less expensive, but nothing in CA is cheap particularly close to the ocean.
@Phoenixeszzz26 күн бұрын
All that money and they didn't think to chip in and clear that giant field of matches that they live next to. Unbelievable
@Raptorman090926 күн бұрын
@@Phoenixeszzz And how would they clean the field of matches? Should they do a controlled burn? What happens when a controlled burn gets out of control? Who's to blame when a controlled burn sets off a wildfire? Here's the deal, these places have had fires going back long before humans ever lived in the area, but over the centuries more and more of the landscape has been carved up for housing developments and strip malls. In a way, it's like buying a house by an airport and then complaining about the noise. At some point the number of people living in an area is so high you can't simply tell them to leave because of the risks for wildfires. Same goes for people living in hurricane or tornado country. California combines terrain that tends to burn or shake (earthquake) or both. The people could move, but to where? Where is it safe from all natural disasters? The cost of living in CA is insanely high, but then the wage level is much higher as well.

Heard them say on FOX 11 57 billion estimate
@Raptorman090926 күн бұрын
@@Ed-sq7jm7 Yep, heard that as well. This could wind up equaling the worst hurricanes for damage cost. Still, no where near Japan's cost from the tsunami that devastated Japan in 2011 -- if I remember correctly the cost was over $800B. And we have yet to get closure on how all these fires started, particularly since the later fires were upwind of the original Palisades Fire. If this was arson and at this point I think that's more likely than not, I do hope they catch the punks that started this, they have at least 5 lives on their hands and likely more when all is accounted for.
