It shows, everything is loft position and wind direction in these short races , truth is you could be the best pigeon fancier in the world with the best pigeons in the world but you can’t beat a wind bias, yb racing is eduction and nothing more and there doing well and learning which is what it’s all about , no excuses as yearlings and only then will you find out how good they are. Great video and good luck for the rest of the season 👍

By the way I meant to say, I think the way you shoot and edit your videos is most professional, do you do something like this for your job? Love the shots where you cut to things like the garden gate, the ets clock etc, most creative 👏👏

Thanks. It's a bit of a hobby really. I do some for work too but it's not as fun as this. It's quite difficult to do it sometimes when the birds are coming in or I'm short on time.

12 out of 12 is a great result in that heat, well done. Nice that Charlie could see his bird return, I think the friendship you have is great 👍

Was to be expected after a week of loft flying and no training, just hope it doesn't take you long to get them back into form and condition, did you're dad or wife stick to the strict feeding instructions and what you have chosen for each day in the water also??

I've being thinking about you're notion that because you handled the bird it might be the reason it was home the next morning, I would say it's just a coincidence, I think you need to be handling them more often, Saturday after a race to see how much condition the have lost, Monday to see how much condition they have put back on, and Friday at basketing time to see how much the condition they had on Monday has turned into pure muscle, and to see how light they are, and check for clear skin and pink muscle either side of the keel bone. A light north east wind should not effect how you do in any race as it's a blow home with a slight bit of wind behind them, if it was just east or west and blowing a gale then it can blow them off line but not always as they will hedge hop and avoid the wind as much as possible, I just seen a flock of 30-40 skimming the roof of my apartments heading west in a light north west wind and they where motoring it and it was hazey rain and poor visibility less than a mile I would say, , so I think u read into the wind direction a bit to much at times I hope you take this advice on board and if you're thinking next season, you need to race them about half a young bird season right up to the second furthest race point, and if they have done that much put what's left away for next season, let them pair in there last races and have some fun with them, and then stop them, see does any want to rear a round or even just let them sit eggs and then separate them let them moult and pair up in December, that's what most do, hope this advice helps you choose what you're going to do in the next 4-6 weeks

Brilliant 😎 Well done fair play that's excellent result for you on your first race too! Regarding faster trapping, I used to basket my yb's and sit away from the loft, then release one at a time to gain extra confidence in trapping solo, which happens often when racing, arriving on their own 🤔Hope that helps, good luck for rest of the season, brilliant channel, very professional 👍

Hi Mate, just a note re your earlier problems re sickness. Vacinate twice a year with two different vaccine, there are multi vaccines and use one against Rota virus and Para for young birds, and salmonella etc all birds in loft a month before pairing up. Only give Matrix antibiotics for a week after you vaccinated.Cheers

To be fair that depends where you sit in your combine front or back , they can’t go further as it would be to far for the lads at the back , my combine is 90 miles long so 50 miles to the front is 140 to those at the back , we have altered this because we can but smaller organisations can’t go to different race points
