Second tractor purchase of 2023- Ratty 1966 Sears Suburban 12 for $80

Bought this ratty tractor for the seat and wheel weights- going to turn it into yard art

I love those 66's I have 4 of them myself. Two of them I take the shows occasionally. The first thing I noticed was those wheel weights, nice score!

Well Cranky, I'll put it in perspective from my view, I paid 75 dollars for a set of the cast weights to put on my 68 Suburban, I drove 75 miles and paid 50 dollars for a 68 Suburban 12 POS with no motor that had the original grill, grill wires and side panel to put on mine, I think you did good for 80 dollars, they are getting harder and harder to find in Georgia, I had an SS16 with no motor or hood, and no engine with a complete 3 point hitch given to me to haul off, I try to put my 2 together with what I can find and grab, I think you did good!!!!!

I rarely turn down cheap tractors and especially not ones with weights - I drove 3 hours round trip to get a machine with 2 sets of weights once- traded a handheld blower for it

How do you adjust the clutch on this style tractor i got a 8e that grinds when trying to put in gear have to start in gear

There is a sliding bolt that the idler rides on, the right side of the frame below the dash. Move it to loosen or tighten the belt
