I installed a Greenworks Optimow in a fenced backyard 1 year ago. This week, I almost bought a second Optimow for the front; fortunately, I found your video and applied the logic to my situation. 4.5 hrs to install wire out front and voila! Thank you for the superb information!!

There's the answer! Thank you!!! The mower menu & app menu are confusing. I thought the same wrong thing. I assumed secondary area was my area 2. This clears things up. Thanks again!

Hey great videos you guys have and explanations, I’m Having issues with mine going to the law across the driveway and mowing a different area. I have the boundary wire included in this area and also a guide wire. I have the 450x

Thanks. Good info. I was wondering if o could do that with my 430xh. It was supposed to come with free install and tutorial but the contractor wanted to charge after I told them husqvarna told them to call me then hisqvarna wouldn’t do anything about it. So I installed it myself and learned how to use it better with your videos.

Glad we could help! Sorry for the the hassle you had to go through with the dealer that was supposed to install your mower. I know Husqvarna is working very hard to "clean up" the dealer Automower dealer network these days.

Thank you for the valuable insights! Sorry for the weird question, but can I create 4 or even 5 secondary areas? Given the mower only has one "secondary area" setting, and doesn't seem to be able to differentiate, if the areas are roughly the same, it shouldn't matter how many secondary loops I encircle with the boundary wire, I should be able to pick my area of choice for a "secondary run", right? As long as there is a boundary loop in all directions, and no guide loop, it should be regarded as a secondary area - but I night be wrong in this.

You are correct, but having that many secondary areas where the mower can not make it back to the charging station if it needs to could take a toll on the batteries.

Question about laying the boundary wire over the driveway (different topic than the video). I see that the entry and return boundary wires are a few feet apart that creates a little passage way. Can I simply run the entry and return boundary wires next to each other? From the way you drew it, it looks like the mower will think there is grass in that passage way and try to mow grass there.

I think it would unless you defined the driveway as an area and set it to 0%? Only a guess though as I'm just getting mine set up and I have that exact situation so I guess I'll know soon

So a secondary area would be like a fenced in back yard.
@RoboticMowerServices Жыл бұрын
Yes, that can be set up as a secondary area. Any area where the mower can not make it back to the charging station on its own can be set up as a secondary area.

OMG So "secondary area" is something different than "Area 2"? Slow clap Husqvarna, well done :(

Oh that's nothing! if you have a model that has the AIM feature it gets even deeper than that!
