I finished HS and left the country. If I’d stayed back in Kenya and gone to college (because my grade wasn’t good enough) I couldn’t have discovered how brilliantly smart I was. Education system in Kenya has a way to dismiss young intelligent minds, categorize many to lower levels, frustrate them to giving up in life. What I thought I’d never do in Kenya, I am doing it right here in Europe. I am a lecturer, something Kenya could never have given me

I'm supposed to go for my second degree in Germany and have visted Bomochoge Borabu MP's Office more than 4 times, they told me to get a card and the deadline was 30th last month. No response and my calls never answered. Everything is a waste, they dont even care about anyone but themselves. Its all messed up. We dont have a country mo more. I miss MP Sad Ogutu and the late MCA Koina . Atleast he could listen to me and send me something to buy food while i was in university.

We don't need physical university in 2024. We only need physical government laboratories where university students can go and practice real world skills after attending online classes / lectures .Through that Kenya will be 100% educated and skillful people. We need more equipped government workshops and labs than lecture halls. Our young university demography needs to know how to handle Africa's real wealth. Diamonds, Copper, smelting iron, Processing of crude Oil, Food value additions, selling our African culture to the world. African Wealth is what we can export while keeping our people within our borders.

The biggest budget item in Kenya is education whiuch receives 600b. 600b is more than the gdp of some countries. 600b is enough money to fund free secondary education and university. The issue is we need to probe or do a forensic audit on the education budget to see where money is going. We had cases of fake schools recieving money yet nothing was done about it. How many dead teachers are still on the payroll, pensions etc. Remember where there is money corruption follows

He says the education funds goes to people's pockets, which is clearly untrue majority of the money goes to salaries and recurrent expenditures that he has access to as a senator. He has been elected to check government and all he does is whine instead of producing evidence of money going to people's pockets. He literally draws a total of 2 million benefits inclusive every month to spew garbage. In US where I went to school citizens pay separately school tax to fund deficit from central government of their respective local schools.

Zero budgeting is a better option but remember the policy set in place for education can make it difficult to make amends as fast. It should be a continuous assessment approach to adapt to new changes of allocation of funds..
