I remember watching this with my oldest son when he was little. He’s now in his early 20s. Just yesterday I watched this episode via my DVD collection and he walked in after coming home from work. We watched it together again. Metamorpho is a powerhouse and John Stewart is my favorite GL. This two part episode was one of the best of the series in my opinion.👍🏾

@@Rengokuo4o6 I believe the videos comment of "that's science for you" was said in jest. The poster is saying that chemical reactions do occur at subzero temperatures. Google says cesium reacts with water at -160 degrees, as an example. Subzero, and absolute zero Kelvin are 2 different things. Subzero refers to below (water) freeze point on the Celsius scale, While absolute zero refers to null/zero energy on the Kelvin scale, which is unobtainable because all energy would have to be removed from the universe

Not sure if true, but heard this episode had to be altered due to the events of 9/11. That's why you hear about them "stowing" the luggage, which would have happened on the plane. After 9/11, well, it got the Lilo and Stitch movie treatment by altering the scene to a train.

Chemical reactions DO NOT stop at 0 degrees, unless you're talking Kelvin, In witch case you'd probably create a new universe... Besides kelvins, 0 whatever is more to do with pressure, water, etc. Not science.

What does "original metahuman" mean? Just about every person with powers on DC Earth is considered metahuman, including those that had their powers before Metamorpho.

They're essentially DC mutants that carry the metagene. Metamorpho isn't your typical meta as his powers come from an outside source and not the metagene itself

I hated how they altered his origin. The comic-book origin is much better - transformed by a meteorite inside a lost pyramid, Stagg’s explanation about his transmuted cells, and his vulnerability to the Orb of Ra (a piece of the original meteorite).

They used Hawkgirl because Hawkman didn't exist in the DCAU far as im aware until the finale of the first Justice League cartoon series, and quite frankly, I prefer the way she bounces off everyone, especially Jon Stewart there That said, did you maybe think that when the show started, they did Hawkgirl at first with this plot thread in mind?
