Rolly beat himself both in and out of the ring. Too much trash talking and not enough humility makes you make the costly mistake he made. Truthfully, he put some punches to Davis and it showed just look at the swelling on his face. Unfortunately, boxing is not just about brawn but brains of which Gevonta displayed pure tactical boxing patience and timing at the right moment. Beautifully done!

He knows he can knock pretty much anyone out. It would be a mistake for him to immediately exploit the openings and mistakes the opponent is making. You gotta trick them into continuing to put themselves in a spot where they think they are safe but are absolutely not. So the only time they realize the mistake is when their waking up on the ground. I hoped that despite the trash talk Rolly would internally respect Tanks boxing skill and ability, but it's clear he didn't at all. If you rewatch the sixth round its clear Tank was looking for basically that exact counter from the beginning of the round. Rolly threw the exact same 2 - 1 combo for the whole fight and in the sixth he threw it with his hands low and chin high *twice in a row*. And the second time is when Tank slept him. Like Tank said, he literally walked straight into it. You can tell Rolly still doesn't get it either, because when they asked him what he thought he had the most sucess with he specifically talked about how he had been getting Tank all night with that 2 -1 combo. Dude was completely setup and outclassed to the point he doesn't even realize it.

I think he fails to realize tank gives early rounds away. He knows he's good enough to box later on and get them back. Tank also plays chess and started laying the ground work in the early 4th round for that shot. Rolly is salty. He talked alot of shit and didn't really do shit. Tried to throw a wrinkle and come out tactical after saying he'd pressure. I watched a mostly uneven fight after tank measured range and timed him up. Rolly is a competitive fighter and really does want to run it back but I don't see any reason to think there might be a different outcome.
