GARDEN TIPS

Күн бұрын

In Today’s short episode we will show you the formula to prepare the most powerful and 100% organic pesticide by mixing baking soda and other stuff to treat almost every pest in your garden.
Let’s Go 100% Organic! and prepare our most powerful pesticide and fungicide solution to treat almost all types of pests in your garden like the aphids, mealybugs, thrips, mites, whiteflies, worms, caterpillars, soil fungus, plant fungus like powdery mildew, black spot rose disease, leaf rust, leaf miners and what not. You can try this on almost any pest on your affected plant. Please stop using chemical pesticides and even chemical fertilizers and go 100% organic!
Now let’s Prepare our most potent pesticide solution. We just use two or three powerful ingredients in this pesticide recipe.
The First one is of course Baking Soda. Mind you its Baking soda and not baking powder. You should know the difference between baking soda and baking powder. Baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate. It should not be confused with either baking powder or even washing soda. Washing soda is sodium carbonate and baking powder contains only 30% baking soda along with other ingredients. Some think baking soda is a chemical. No, It comes from earth and 100% organic.
In fact, Baking Soda is registered by the Environmental Protection Agency as a bio-pesticide in United States. So its 100% organic and natural.
In one of my previous episodes last year, we have discussed the miracles of baking soda in your garden like using it as a stand alone pesticide and fungicide, cleaning garden tools and pots, for flowers and lot more.
Before you spray on your entire plant, please perform a patch test on a leaf and leave it for an hour or two to see the potency. If the leaf wilts, you will need to dilute it further.
So, there you have it folks, please hit the like button if you found it helpful. Do comment below with your queries and feedback and consider subscribing if you are new to this channel.

One thing worth mentioning is that if you spray the plants in your garden during the day with direct sunlight, you will likely cause phytotoxicity in the foliage which can kill your plants if the shock is too much at once. You need to spray in the evening or very early morning to avoid this. Morning is riskier than evening as the plants need to be dry when the sun hits the leaves or else...

My squash, cantaloupe, and watermelon are still hanging in there so I’ve been looking for organic remedies to try. Adding the baking soda is different than what I have been seeing. @@CG-mj8tk Hello! After using it that one time, I had to stop because my cantaloupe leaves got burned and I did spray it on in the late evening after the sun went down and it was still too strong. So doing a test spray is a good ideas as many suggest. I ended up using Diatomaceous Earth, which has been doing very well to combat the earwigs (pincher bugs) who, I found out, were eating on my leaves at night. As for the mites, I sprayed down my plants with water from the hose every other day and then reapplied the diatomaceous earth when everything dried. I noticed that they have decided to go somewhere else. They are resilient little buggers 😄 I check my garden everyday in the morning and in the evening when the sun sets. The bugs are always on their job. My garden is doing SO well for its 1st year. I’m still learning and applying new things though. Good luck to you!

i been using neem oil for several years now to get rid of aphids and other chewing bugs. it shuts down their ability to feed and to breed. you have to add a bit of dish soap so the oil will mix with the water. baking soda i have used too to control tomato blight. it alkalizes the leaves and prevents blight from taking hold but you have to reapply about every week or so and after a rain. i have never mixed the two together but can see why that would work as neem also helps with fungus so combining the two makes perfect sense. also you should apply early in the morning before the sun is up strong. putting oil on a leaf in full sun is a good way to burn it. just a light misting too because you do not want heavy oil on as it will act like a magnifying lens and cause the sun to burn the foliage.

Thank you! The white aphids infesting my flowers and caterpillars on my citrus trees are finally eradicated. I followed someone else's horticultural pesticide ingredients which included way more oil and soap literally killed my flowers and I was beyond devastated. Your video has helped a lot. 🌻

We have Crepe Myrtle Bark Scale in the south, so I'm going to try this when it's time to trim the plants back (less limbs to spray and more ability to access after the leaves have fallen). Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into it. I have been having trouble with little bugs and I didn’t know what to do. So I would put it outside and it would die. Now I don’t have to do that. Thanks again.!!

I hope I'm not too late with your solution. Some critters have eaten my baby papaya plants and now working on my 4 footers. The existing leaves are mostly brown likely due to the heavy rains here in Florida so will add additional holes at the bottom and will elevate my seven 15/20 gallon pots. Thank you for your help.

Please consider, that my employing this method as a form of "pest control", what you are really doing is killing many small creatures, harming your plant (it clogs their stomata the same as it clogs the respiratory parts of the aphids), and wasting your time as more aphids will be back as the plant weakens due to clogged pores, and dirty leaves from all the dead bugs. I've been down this road too many times. At the very least, make sure to spray your plant clean afterward- it's not good for them!

The product recommended to me, isn't available anymore. So, here I go, I will go organic and hope it works. Once again. Many thanks.
