Hi, what would you suggest in replacement of sugar are people who are pre-diabetic or diabetic? Thanks if you left sugar out with it throw the whole recipe off? Again, thanks

I am curious. There is a small white ramekin with a red powder in it that you didn't discuss in your video. Did you not mention it purposely or was it an ingredient you missed. It looks like Cayenne thats why I am asking. And a lot of rubs have Cayenne so I just wanted to be clear..

Here's a link amzn.to/2IQnVPz Its essentially smoked salt. You could even make your own if you ever smoke meats low and slow. Enjoy

Pro tip, removing the membrane allows the rub to season that side of the meat. Also making it easier to cut. Google it if you doubt me. Also, 45 minutes? 15 does the job.

Chihuahua salt is not Himalayan salt. Chihuahua salt has a size and texture that reminds me of Kosher salt. The smokiness is great, and the salt flavor is muted to some degree making it very specail.

Hey can you recommend another smoked sea salt please. The one you left a link for is not in stock and there’s so many smoked salts. I noticed the one you recommended was smoked over almond and orange wood but all the other ones I have seen are smoked over different wood. Thanks

Wait- the video wasn’t really clear. What’s the difference between the pork rub and the regular one? And when/were does the sugar go? I love spicy foods. From my experience chili powders usually do have a spiciness level to them. Seems like this recipe has a lot of it. Would be fine for me, but not sure my family can tolerate. Cumin on the other hand is a basic and must spice for making roast pork, at least for us Cubans.

Chili powder more times than not isn't really spicy as it's more of a deep smokey flavor. Yet each chili pepper is a little bit different. The sugar is good for the pork or chicken rub. Not so much on beef, but it does work on beef depending on what you're trying to create.
