Since it's a tiered system now, the front rows of the bleachers at Fenway range from a high face value of $53 to a low of $23! Awesome Fenway vid! That front row loge--it used to be way worse when it came to people walking by in front of you. They lowered the cross aisle after the 2008 season so at least you have a shot at seeing over people's heads. I agree with you, you still get the whole atmosphere of it but you also can see the game now. Mostly.

They check tickets in the front row of the bleachers because those are wheelchair/handicapped seats. They put chairs in almost all the spots too to give them flexibility over which seats are for wheelchairs and which are for companions. Like anywhere else, once the game is a few innings in, they don't care if you try to move down, as long as you move if the real ticket holder shows up.

I've had someone be mildly sarcastic to me for moving down - once, but no one has ever been a real jerk. Worst case, the ushers will just tell you to go back to your actual seat, at least at Fenway.

I also like how you gave a shout out to the stadium atmosphere. I've spoken to many of the vendors here, and they say fans often get upset at their presence blocking the view. I feel they add to the atmosphere, and I'm glad to see someone else agrees.
