as Fury was following that little girl who ended up being Gravik everyone they turned into was from earlier.. the man in the pub, the woman kissing the man on the river, etc.. meaning Gravik has been watching Fury directly the entire time. Also the question is was Maria accusing him of killing her or trying to tell him that there is someone who looks like him now. Also Gaia still delivered the bombs even though they were decoys really so not sure whose side she really is on. This is def going to be a slow burn the whole time which im here for but if y'all don't like that genre in general then you may not like it overall

Loving the paranoia! My favourite part so far has been all the scenes we get of veteran actors talking. And I think it's interesting how the Skrulls aren't a unified faction hellbent on taking over earth, and how even among those that want to invade there dissent and doubt.

And that's the thing about spy movies and shows. It's a slow burn of calculated plot devices. It's going to be a lot of talking and setting up character development and other scenes. It requires your full attention to build up to a crescendo of action. You get rewarded, but you gotta have patience. I thought it was a fantastic episode. It didn't give away too much, but having Maria die like that lets you know the stakes are so much higher now.

Episode 2 is definitely spicy..both with the action and the dialogue between characters. Just hang in there it gets better. But in looking at this episode again, I don’t think that was Gaia who told Talos about the bombs and where it was going to happen. Mulder was right…trust no one!!

I dont agree, I think this IS, infact, the last we see of Maria Hill. Slow episode, but I absolutely loved it. Second episode, craziness ensues for sure. No worries. I will say that Maria Hills death makes sense. This whole first 2 episodes are laying the groundwork for Fury to get back into his groove, have a reason to go hard, typical spy stuff, but i'm LOVING it. Sad to see Maria go, but it makes sense to me.

I also like that idea they have chosen to make the skrulls bad guys after having introduced them and changing them to good guys, I don't know why Carol and Fury never actually kept the promise of finding them a new home (meaning how they would explain it as they seemed to be leaving to do so at the end of Captain Marvel), but def after 30 years of waiting I can totally imagine a lot of them losing trust and faith and radicalizing.

I get the "fridging" concern, but I don't think it applies here. She had a purpose - she wasn't just there to be an emotional prop for Fury. Plus, it gets dangerously close to "you can't kill female characters anymore" which would be more detrimental than harmful.
