Mana Crypt was part of the original deck list (Gavin's). It was a real shame that mana Crypt wasn't the bonus card. It wouldn't have hurt WOTC or cost them any extra money to throw in a Mana Crypt as the bonus card. Just leaves a bad taste in the mouth of players, especially after having to wait so long.

The planeswalker symbol is also used with the list cards. I will also note the deck was originally advertised as being half foil half non-foil.

This. And the printing came out really dope imo, not odd at all. The delay wasnt a suprise for me, kind off expected it, but it was longer than i wouldve thought. I mean a whole year?! We atleast got like 1/3 of the buy price as compensation in the collector booster pack (kind of deserved it aswell). Cant wait to start playing with the deck (already got nice proxy upgrades since like 10 months xD). Foils also dont seem te curl that much as with other secret lairs.

I’m happy that the deck is actually coming, but it’s also the entire reason that I don’t mess with secret lair anymore. There is no reason that they should’ve dropped the ball like this, and without the Crypt being the secret card, it’s a big slap in the face. Not surprised by wizards and hasbro at this point.

Seems like a pretty ham-fisted product. They'll tell you that "It's 50% foiled like the odds on a coin flip! Neato!" We can all see through that bull and just realize that they didn't want to give you a foil Academy ruins, Sulfur Falls, Commander's Plate, and all the other valuable cards. They gave you a paper deckbox, They gave you a plastic coin, They removed the Mana Crypt, and they gave you a foil island as a sorry for the year delay. Nothing against you though, I hope its a fun deck to run! I just hate Wizards more and more every time I see this kind of stuff.

It's a 50/50 chance you get a full art mountain, or full art island, as to play into the deck's theme even more. Either way, there should never be basic lands as the bonus cards for a Secret Lairs as far as I'm concerned, especially not in a $100 product, but if all of the mountains and islands in the deck were the full arts of the new art, that would've been much more acceptable than 1 single land as a bonus.

Has anyone checked if any of the cards in this deck were in the mystery booster packs? It may be that none of these were in that set and so the planeswalker symbol would still be unique for the secret lair cards in your deck. I agree though, they should have used a different symbol at least at the bottom instead of re-using old assets (planeswalker symbol)

It’s pretty funny that the new Urza/Mishra decks that are entirely old frame turned out to be a cooler product imo. You get two decks for the same price, and they have a drastically more cohesive and enjoyable not only visual but play feel. Taking out the big hitters really hurts this deck. Guess the best thing about this secret lair is I pulled a borderless foil Boseiju, Who Endures in my pity pack.

Seeing this opening is making me glad I watched this before opening mine. I have played a coin deck since way before this product, so I wanted the fancy cards, however, only getting 5 cards that are actually fancy for $100? No thanks. I'll keep mine sealed and sell it when it doubles in price and buy the singles. Worst secret lair so far IMO. That includes the fetch lands as at least it wasn't under the guise of 100 cards for $100. Out of the all the cards to get fancy art, why propaganda? Where is the Frenetic Efreet? The most powerful card in the deck? Fomo got me good.

I have no issues with the half-foiling, the planeswalker symbol, or the set symbols. I believe the set symbols are supposed to match what is in Gavin's deck - and they can't just reprint a huge slew of older cards without differentiating them from the original printing, thus the planeswalker symbol. I can imagine that collectors would have a nightmare trying to differentiate between an original / reprinted card from this set without the symbol to tell them apart - especially when some cards are getting foil treatment for the first time ever. The only major, objective complaint to be had here is that this took almost a full year to deliver, without any tangible updates throughout multiple delays.

But to come at me and say it's greedy to ask for little more things done on a 100$ commander deck is odd. Typically a commander deck is what like 45$ on the high end? They've been as low at 20$ at release. This is supposed to be "special". At 100$ tossing in a better quality deck box is nothing off their bottom line. The There will be Dragons secret lair a few months ago cost like 25$ more and included way more neat and cool things and I believe was worth it. I'm not saying it's a terrible product or a good one, it's just ehhhhhh just okay at best. Also the planeswalker symbol I've only seen done for Mystery booster pack cards, if it's on others I've never come across it before.

I can understand why maybe you would forget what is in it because its been a year since it went for sale, but come on. Watching you unboxing it being so clueless about the product was hard to watch. The value of this deck is much more than the other preconstructed hence the higher price. I feel like it might have a hidden core of a small piece of metal. I was wondering which side should be which, then I realised that the red Okaun side shows his loin-clothed butt. It sucks that we had to wait so long for this product to come out and that the accessories are kinda cheap. The value of the deck itself is definitely there, though, if you consult the secondary market. This deck would cost almost $300 if you were to just order the singles, and that's not factoring in premiums for the foils. Good video, boss! Thanks for the opening.

To be fair, when they announced the deck they made it very clear only half the deck would be foil and even made a list of all the foil / non foil cards But since then, they did give us the premium deck series for Warhammer that did have all foils. Which is kind of disappointing they couldn't just make these foil. I think by now we also all know that wizards does follow the secondary market value of cards so they won't just print a bunch of expensive foils into a deck only for $99.

As of the original sale though, the deck was worth about $250, so if you can manage to get it for under that it's still not a terrible deal, but yeah I wish they were either all foil, or none (besides the 5 special reversible cards) were.

technically, this isn't a precon, but a downgraded version of a deck made by gavin verhey. Most of these cards would never see any official precon that would be released, and the overall value of the package, if you were to try to recreate it, would be about double the price. So in this one case, essentially buying 100 cards for 1.00 each? it's not too much of a problem. The only real problem lies with wizards poor management of the shipping.

@@MrRayRockstar it is just reprints, sure, but a lot of good reprints nonetheless. Unlike normal commander precon, this is a product meant for those already enfranchised with the game. In my opinion, there are three types of people who bought this: 1. People who were already wanting to build Zndrsplt and Okaum as commanders. 2. People who want to take apart the deck and use a majority of the cards for their own decks. 3. People who will end up reselling it on the secondary market for a marked up price.
