I am 45 years old. I've been a warhammer 40k fan since I was 12. I played during my teen years, follow and ate up all the lore to the point I was Lore savvy (I cannot call myself lore master I'm not worthy of that) and played the first games as they came out as during my deployments. I personally own more than 3000 euros in books and miniatures of 40k. I saw Dawn of war 1, felt all the courage and sadness of Dawn of war 2, played Space Hulk, got the new Space Hulk Deathwing and went back in, played Space Marine 1 and become a staunch Titus supporter. I went there and back again, and as a grown man, I wept. Not of sorrow, not of sadness, but of joy. Just started watching Secret Level today, only 8 episodes so far. I am 5 episodes in and each episode so far has been hella amazing & EPIC! Not a single boring moment! It's basically the same like Love Death and Robots, just with videogames. It's r-rated so you can expect some brutal kills. Give this a watch it's def worth the time, for me 1 of the best shows this year.

They could have used real levels instead of that single arena maybe, and quake and UT were known for their gory violence with people exploding into "gibs", but the episode felt PG-13 in a bad way

@@Elecat1996 they did kind of base the arenas on classic maps, one resembled DM_facing worlds, and another was loosely similar to CTF_high. They did take quite a bit of creative liberties, and used newer version models of weapons instead of basing them on the classic UT99 weapons, but it was still a very fun watch. Especially the classic announcements "CONGRATULATIONS. YOU'RE THE WINNER" "DOUBLE KILL" and so on.

Dude I played the 2003 and 2004 version online, it was so much fun. All those custom maps and even a spinoff was made (TacticaOps) which IMO was better than CS could ever be. I guess CS became more popular because it was based off of Half-Life (like Gmod is). UT was amazing and they'd've been massive today if it wasn't for the late 2000 blunders (they were decent but they did blow it) Also the story behind was very cool for its time but sadly not expanded much upon. Their competitions were games like Quake and Doom (and said Half-Life). Nah man, UT will go into legend. Their Unreal engine is still going strong though. And I remember when "everyone" used Crysis as a benchmark and before and after that mainly Unreal Engine games.

That’s what I’m saying. LDR was hands-down some of the best animation I’ve ever seen. I want this show to do well enough that we see a WAVE of new, high-quality animated (or live-action) game adaptations. There are some GORGEOUS stories that so many people haven’t experienced because they just don’t like games or don’t have the time to play them.

With Tim Miller being at the helm, it will be a treat, and thankful to experience what him and his team at Blur Studios always brings. I wish the US was more accepting of "adult" animation like other parts of the world because we could have so many great films made with CGI, but we have to play them as video games to experience them (which isn't a bad thing), but playing a 40 hour game, while cool once, it'd be nice to pop in a 2 hour film with the same style.
