Honestly, true. You gain hearts for succeeding but don't lose anything unless you re-roll and fail the hard task, how many times has someone re-rolled and failed the hard task? That shows how much it's not just the heart regeneration that was the problem, failing a task and receiving no punishment is also a problem. Then there's factoring in gifting a heart, which can keep a player in the game for another session. As much as I want this series to go on for another 3 episodes, it's not the tasks that should be made harder, it's the game design that needs to be fixed. These may all sound like complaints, but I'm generally curious about what would the players do if x or y was taken away? How would they make fun content if they couldn't gift hearts, or failing a task took 10 hearts, but re-rolling and failing a hard task took 20? Or you couldn't go to the end/nether/deep dark, and hostile mobs took 5 hearts?

Grian’s “Spawn an Enderman” strategy would’ve actually worked well, seeing as Gem was staring right at it. If Etho hadn’t stared at it (he was warned by Grian), Gem could’ve been killed due to her low hearts. I have a feeling it will be used more in the future.

Grian, next time you’re at the top of a ladder that high up, you can place a block on the top of the ladders, fire arrows on it; and break it when someone is on the ladder. All of the arrows will fall down in them. Edit: multiple arrows will still only do one arrows worth of damage, but if you lined one up on the edge of the block, it could be far enough to the side to give them knock back that would push them off the ladder

What an awesome session! I was sitting here all content like "We've probably got a couple more episodes since there are so many Yellows and Greens." Never saw the zombie apocalypse coming, but I love it from both a KZbin "speeding up the end of the series" standpoint and a storytelling in-universe standpoint. I feel like the Red name tasks might have ultimately been the reason they had to do this zombie apocalypse thing. Most red tasks involve dealing 5-10 hearts of damage at most and only once at a time which completely halted their killing power, they were just too limited by their tasks to keep the pace of the previous seasons.

Reds basically have staying power, though. If they stay on top of their tasks, they have the highest heart regen ability out of all. If martyn completes 4 tasks in a session, that's 20 hearts he's recovering. Those tasks are going to be much harder to complete with a red standstill next session.

Task idea: Convince someone to trade tasks. If they agree, whatever their task is becomes yours and they get this one. You can tell them that you’re allowed to trade tasks, but nothing more. They cannot tell you what their task is either, it’s a gamble for both parties involved. If you successfully trade this task away, you cannot tell anyone else anything about this task or else you fail your new task immediately. If you have this task by session over, you fail. If you end up with a task that wasn’t originally yours, do not press success or fail until session over because someone else has your book.

Let’s say Joel gets this task, he’s have to trade the task with someone else, if he traded with Grian he’d get whatever task Grian was doing and if he completed that one, he’d be able to click succeed, but he’d have to wait until session over to press succeed because otherwise it would take the book away from Grian. The same goes for anyone else involved in a trade, they have to wait til session over to either press succeed or fail because otherwise someone else will lose their book, the only person that cannot succeed is whoever ends up with the trading task by the end and fails to trade it away.

The reason I watch the Secret Life series is because of the fun it brings to see other people's POV, and since everyone has different tasks, it makes for a unique viewing experience for each and every one. Override task really killed this for me, as everyone had the same footage (other than those who weren't converted I guess).

I gotta agree. The zombie apocolypse was fun, but losing all those great tasks is a tragedy. BigB got one so well suited to him and it got turned into another part of the chase. I honestly have been 2xspeed-ing many perspectives once the apocolypse gets going, unless they went off like Pearl to do something unique. A strength of this season is that factions must often split up for large portions of the episode to do tasks, and the audience watches everyone to see what they got assigned (Especially since they stopped showing the meeting at the end with task recaps. Good on-the-fly adjustment of them to start cutting those!) But this forced two megafactions that mostly huddled together, so any one perspective gives, like, 90% of the content for those time streaches. It was sort of fun but I would have preferred the tasks the session started with or at least some ability to multi-task. For example, pearls book forced re-roll next session but they book holder still kept their original task too. That was very fun! Still having fun watching, but I did dislike the overwrite aspect.
