I do love a speech too He's actually speaking from the heart that what any parent and child should actually be saying to their kids That's why I love George's character because even though that he is strict sometimes he surely loves his kids especially Ricky and Amy I just hate the fact that it just went down the way it was at the very end of the show but in the end Ricky and John actually did follow Amy to New York and they actually got married 4 years after which I read about it and I researched it That's what the writers specifically said

I truly believe this lie was their downfall. Almost every arguement they had after this involved this lie or when they were actually going to get married because they were lying to everyone about having already done it. If they hadn't lied, they would have ended up getting married already.
