My guess is the reaper wrecks have better loot because they are higher risk targets since they are visible from anywhere in the game. However, if it happens to be part of the storytelling of Flameheart's ship hitting the seas that would be cool

The past 6 shipwrecks I've done have given me kings chests and not a single barnacle chest.

I hit gold a few days ago. Sank someone with 15 barnacle chests.

I feel like I’m getting way too good of loot for too small of an action. I just feel I shouldn’t get an ashen king skull worth 5,000 by killing a random ashen guardian. That’s more than world event items or some Chest of Legends I’ve gotten. Shipwrecks feel as though it’s the same thing

it makes it more valuable to attack ships that you see in the open world. so iot encourages interaction between ships

If they want people to start fighting over Reaper chests so badly maybe make the value of the chest higher instead?

Reaper chest was never meant to be “good money” as there isn’t even much you can purchase with dabloons. It’s more for commendations, reapers bounty is the main chest people want

Last night we found two out of four shipwrecks had the horns, no reaper chests. Maybe they have a higher spawn on gilded voyages? Sometimes the shipwreck would just appear as we got in range

Would be pretty cool to see some new weapons like club that does stun or knock back but has low damage or an axe with slow swing speed but a bit more damage than the cutlass

You need to look up the meaning of “core changes”? Season 12 has made NO core changes. It has just added more stuff (of varying merits). A core change would be something like if Rare ever corrected the sailing/wind physics.

Very interesting. Will definitely motivate me to actually get those repear chest hand-ins grinded out for the chest of fortune equivilent commendations for the weapon set.
