This was the best yet! Before I was a 747-400 airline pilot, I flew C-130’s in the Air Force and dirt landings were my specialty. This trip made my day! I love the way you guys work together to bring out the best of New Zealand? So glad I found your Channel.

Oooof, I think this may have just trumped Abel Tasman on my top place I must visit in NZ. Don't get me wrong, what you showed us of Abel Tasman was beautiful, but a very expected kind of beauty, but the remoteness and slightly ruggedness of this area is a dream! Just EPIC !!!! If there is heaven on earth - it's the Marlborough Sounds. You guys know how much I love the top of the South Island (Marlborough/Nelson/Tasman),but the Marlborough Sounds are IT for me. Even driving along Queen Charlotte Drive you can see a fair amount of the Sounds,but driving out to Kenepuru Sounds,a very long drive,is worth it as well. But awesome vlog today,and this just brings back many memories (especially that Queen Charlotte track). And was that Picton International Airport at the beginning ? Bustling as ever...

That landing strip!!!! But what a flight and location. Such a cool plane too. I'm always amazed at how these smaller planes can take off and land in such a tight situation. I flew from UK to Cork in Ireland on a twin prop engined passenger plane (seated about 30) once and it was up into the air in no time, cruised at 12000 feet so views were great. Brilliant camerawork as always :)

Oooh lordy! I'm (Stacey) secretly afraid of everything 😂 So think we'll leave the flying up to the professionals. Wouldnt be surprised if Dane was on board with this idea though!
@jackoneil39333 жыл бұрын
@@DanegerAndStacey Thanks much for the reply. I suggested considering flying because you both seem very level headed, and obviously have a passion for travel and adventure. I've noticed Stacey, that often what take to be fear is simply anxiety over things like the unknown or doubt in our own abilities. I've known several people who thought they were 'afraid of everything' as you put it, who took up flying and in the process overcame their "fear" issues once they understood a bit the physics involved and that light aircraft are no on the edge of disaster all the time, and not that difficult to pilot. Maybe it would be a cool episode could be "Our first flying lesson" I have some contacts in NZ who are old-school aviation professionals who love introducing people to aviation whom I could reach out to, and I'll bet there may be someone who's an old hand at overcoming anxiety and helping people along in their life's adventure. Let me know if you might want to consider something further. Cheers!.

Lemon scones... you had lemon scones... I am so jealous! Great vlog in a beautiful place. However when my partner and I were returning from the Russian border down the coast of Norway we had 50 to 70 metre waves. We have both got certificates to show our bravery and neither of us were poorly even though everything in our cabin hit me in my berth including the coffee table. So might I suggest that the splashy bit was just fine. Stay chilled. Love what you do :D

Looks a bit like Paradise does it not? NZ seems to me, to be me a lot as I remember growing up around light aircraft 50 years ago in Oregon and British Columbia. Compared to today back then seems magical like what I'm seeing from your journey.
@jackoneil39333 жыл бұрын
@@alisonpinches775 Indeed... From Daneger and Stacy's travels and what we glimpsed from the air, it does look much like western Oregon, and B.C. but what struck me was that there appeared to be a magical, unspoiled nature that's much less common those areas of the U.S. and Canada I remember from Childhood that caused me to wax blissfully nostalgic for a moment. People who have been to the South Island and a few Kiwi's I know from there, say it's a bit dull compared to the U.S. and the coasts of Canada, but as we know there are growing concessions to peace and civility that come when you give up 'dullness', and after a years of Riots in Portland and what is now sprouting the grass on the south Islands looks a lot greener.

We can't speak for all companies as we've only ever booked through Maui & Discover NZ via Motorhome Republic which both required a bond. Uusually it depends on the type of insurance you take too. If you opt to pay more upfront for a lower excess, rollover cover etc your bond will be lower.
