Secret method of leveling your sawmill

In all my research, I haven't found anyone else who uses this technique. I doubt it hasn't been used but apparently isn't advertised.

How do you square the log stops?

I use a framing square, loosen the mounts and tighten while square.

@@TheClackShackdo you put the log stop in or square the bracket. I have an lx50 and don’t there isn’t clear instruction on how to do it.

@@markj811 Yes, Add the uprights to the bracket. Leave the bolts loose enough that you can move them slightly. A speed square is really handy at the mill.

I use a laser too but with a laser receiver.

I have the problem that my tracks sag at the joints while my bunks are flat and level. Looking for tips to level and flatten them both. It’s a Woodlands mill

I placed my supports where the sections go together. I don’t have any issues

I just purchased a lx55 trying watch all the videos I can to learn,but with yours sitting on wood how does it stay level and not move when you put a log onto it?

It sits on 6x9 beams that I cut. Power pole legs are buried to support it. The setup is very strong. Depending on your soil, the legs can settle but my ground is gravel and sand that packs well. I checked and adjusted the level after about a month and it hasn't moved since.

I don't understand what I am looking for with the laser could you elaborate? I actually have a laser

I use the laser level to make sure all the cross bars are even. It is easier than a string.

@@TheClackShack understood, but what is indicating that it’s even? I just see a vertical line, unless there is a horizontal I didn’t pick up on . Thanks for the response

Great video. Have you ever used a green line laser module as an alignment tool ?

Yes, that is what I am using in this video. It is a Bosch auto leveling laser.

@@TheClackShack That’s actually our specialty. Most of our clients in the sawmill industry that operate the woodland mill or wood mizer use our green line laser module AGLL2 in a 20mw output power. It`s more of an external module that is adapted with a moutning bracket on the side of the mill.
