The Jacobs family has always given to Charities and will continue as long as we're able. Scott grew up in NJ, as shown. I, Sharon, grew up in MI and was raised by a single mom, losing our home to foreclosure. Neither Scott nor myself went to college because we were too busy working. Because of that hard work, we are fortunate now and choose to give back. SM DID NOT pay Scott or Alexa. The donations came from us personally. Not seen: game room tables, new computers and other private donations.

Scott and Alexa, this was so beautiful, and I felt every emotion right with you. There is NOTHING that compares to the joy that fills your heart when you give. I am 51 years old and my husband is 69 and he served our country from going to Vietnam twice to going to Iraq for the wars. When he retired he went to Afghanistan for 8 years as a contractor at the Embassy essentially as a liaison between their government and ours. He never wanted to stop serving!! I always joke that his blood is army green! LOL So the veteran segment touched my heart so warmly as we understand what it's like to give everything to our country only to struggle on the back side. Would we love to have a house? Sure we would, but we choose to live in a cheaper townhome because more than wanting to save for a house, we want to give. I save all year so that I can pass out $50 bills at the bus stops during Christmas season, or to pay for someone's toys at the toy store, or to meet a need for someone's electrical bill, etc. There is NO greater joy that I have ever felt in my life than giving it away. You can experience this feeling at any level, you don't have to have a lot, pay someone's toll, or bill in a hamburger drive through, it doesn't take much to experience that joy. God Bless you for what you learned and for what you gave. It truly filled my heart to watch.

This one is my all-time favorite episode! It’s difficult for me to pin any one thing down that I loved most because there were SO many things! I think one of the things that grabbed my heart was the veterans and how they were being helped, not just pushed aside and forgotten about. I have learned that when our sons and daughters are sent off to battle, the average citizen doesn’t have a clue as to the horrific things our veterans have seen overseas. The death and destruction that they deal with is something no one should have to see. But, some are just out of high school, and they go from proms to bombs. They see bodies blown into a hundred pieces. They see things that we at home can only imagine in our worst nightmares. My son was deployed 5 different times-3 of which were to Iraq. He never got to complete his 3rd tour in Iraq. We need to actively seek out our veterans and support them in any way we can. And, I don’t just mean financially. Listen to them with an open heart. If this TV shows tells you anything, it’s that you don’t have to be a millionaire to help (although it CAN allow you to help people financially, and that sure helps! ) Just do something -anything that shows our vets that we can truly SEE that they sacrificed A LOT for you and me. Send some love their way! You’ll NEVER regret it, I promise you that! God bless you and most of all, GOD BLESS OUR VETERANS!! (I apologize for the length of my comment, but thank you for reading it...)❤️

Like all those beautiful people who care about people. That they put all their effort to keep them out of the street and teach them that they can make a different to the world with their talents. I love this story. The relationship between Scott and his daughter seemed stronger than they let on to start but by the end of their journey it solidified their bond like nothing else I can think of would. It was very emotional from how much love the whole family seemed to share all the way to the end where they touched so many lives not only with money but caring. Alexa impressed the hell out of me. She started out being straight forward about who she was and how privileged she felt. By the end she showed a real presence about her and a depth that may have always remained dormant had she not had this experience. Her strength came forth almost immediately which surprised me. I expected whining and diva tantrums at least occasionally from someone used to being pampered and who had never cleaned a bathroom. Not once did she say she hated this and wanted to go home. She bitched about the smell of the couch way less than I would have. She still sat on it. That's from good parenting. She treated everyone with respect and humility. Both of them did. About midway through the program I stopped and said aloud 'I like her.' Then again about him. They are good people with great personalities. I would way rather watch a reality program with them than the Kardashians.

wealth doesn't change you're attitude it shows here that his daughter is so kind not a brat. . . so i conclude that people's attitude depends and starts with the parents ^_^

I see it everyday and can show big business how THEY are contributing daily to what is happening in there community as they are leaving out there door, all the trash homelessness ,drugs and killings of there own people and family because like politics and I don't CARE is making what is happening in THIS WORLD today. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE RICH TO GIVE MORE. JOHN H AMEN VETERAN. WHO HAS BEEN OUT THERE TO TELL ALL TIME IS PASSED AND OPEN YOUR EYES MORE AND TAKE S STAND FOR YOUR COMMUNITY PEOPLE.

That is so true. Some of the greediest people have nothing, but the principle of giving means it will multiply and come back to you. It's a law of the universe. If everyone would just open their hands and give of themselves it would change their lives and change the world.

What an amazing father!! Every child who lives a privileged life should experience this!! I'm glad to see a person in the USA doing this. The episodes I've watched have been millionaires from the UK and Scotland. Why do I cry through every episode of this show!!

Truly inspiring story...a reminder that there are amazing people doing amazing deeds, everyday, without recognition or glory...but just because its the right thing to do. Lots of lessons learned in this one episode.

The best episode of all. So many come on as millionaires but do it, or so it looks like, for all the wrong reasons. The thing about donating when you're a millionaire, is that people need to donate according to what they have. When you have a lot but you only donate a little.. it makes them look extremely greedy. It looks as if they came on the program only for the publicity. For their 15 minutes of fame. But this father and daughter opened their hearts and their wallet to 3 extremely Worthy charities / programs. What a beautiful lesson this father is teaching his daughter. That if God has blessed you greatly, then to bless somebody else greatly is pretty much what God expects you to do. It's a shame that others in the series don't do the same thing but as for this father daughter team, I hope God blesses them abundantly for sharing such a goodly amount of what they have, with others who so greatly need their help!
