Fun fact, Mormons stay married more often than not (which shouldn't be weird but is today), are generally happy, and are usually very generous with both time and wealth. We strive to improve ourselves and help those around us. We believe that religion is not a Sunday only thing, and yes, it can take some time out of the week. Call us what you will, but we do strive to be good, honest, contributing members of society.

It’s a special way of worship and people can all worship however they want. All religions have their own “different” ways of worship, it’s not bizarre. It’s different. And it’s beautiful to worship however someone wants to. You need to respect others the way you would like someone to respect you. Especially if it is something that has to do with your faith, something close to your heart.

I was a Mormon for many years of my life around 15 years, I fell away from the church for a time around 2 years and then returned for a while before falling away from it again now I'm 19 and much more mature I have come back to the Mormon church, I know what's it's like on both sides of the fence and I can say I prefare the Mormon side, I am much happier and healthier this way and so is my family. ^_^ Dare to be a Mormon; Dare to stand alone. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. The biggest lie is that LDS believes the Book of Mormon is true. If the Book of Mormon is true, ........why does LDS teach that Heavenly Father and Mary conceived Jesus to be the literal Son of God when Alma 7:10 says it was the Holy Spirit just like the Bible does in Luke 1:35 and Matthew 1:18 If the Book of Mormon is true, ........why does LDS teach that Heavenly Father is progressing which means changing and improving when Moroni 8:18 states that He is unchangeable? If the Book of Mormon is true, ........why does LDS teach multiple gods must exist when Alma 11:28-29 says there is only ONE God just like the Bible does in Isaiah 43:10, Isaiah 44:6-8 and Isaiah 45:5? If the Book of Mormon is true, ........why does D&C 42:18 say that murder can't be forgiven when 3 Nephi 30:2 says that it can? If the Book of Mormon is true, ........why does D&C 130:3 says that God can't dwell in the hearts of men but Alma 34:36 says the He can? If the Book of Mormon is true, ........why is there no mention of a restoration of the church when the Bible says in Matthew 16:18 that His Church (Jesus') will never be destroyed by any power not even the gates of hell with a solemn promise? Do Mormons think that Jesus lied to Peter? If the Book of Mormon is true, ........why don't Mormons believe in the Trinity when reading 2 Nephi 11:7 which explains that Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity and our Creator, not our elder brother. Other verified verses of the Trinity include 2 Nephi 31:21 and 3 Nephi 11:27 If the Book of Mormon is true, why does LDS ignore what it teaches? _Jesus is MY temple recommend because Christ does not dwell in man-made buildings_ (Acts 17:24)

The acts themselves are very easy to follow and enactment of each obiedience is acting upon faith it's self. Please understand that a change takes place inside our bodies once this faith of obiedience occurs. Theres over 16 million LDS Members that will tell you from their own experience that this change inside of them occurs when faith is administered they feel this peaceful love of serenity and greater presense of God himself.

Polygamy is not unknown in the bible. Abraham, a prophet, took Hagar even though he already had a wife. There are many more examples. It's not unreasonable to think God may have commanded polygamy under certain circumstances, if you believe in God anyways. Regardless, the LDS church is clearly against polygamy. Warren Jeffs is not LDS, and polygamy has not existed in their religion for over 120 years. Polygamy was also NOT illegal until 1862, when Abraham Lincoln signed the law, ~ 20yrs after JS

The temples in the OT were for the High Priest to offer Gifts and sacrifice for sin. Jesus became the ETERNAL High Priest when he offered his body and gave gifts like prophecy. (HEBREWS) He said the Law and the Prophets were until John! There is nothing biblical about your temples. BYU Professor and historian Dr, Quinn states Occultic rituals are done there and he still wants to be a mormon...thats deception!

You do realize you just called ABRAHAM, the father of the israelites, a prophet and man very blessed of God evil, right? If prophets in the bible practiced it and were in fact prophets, then it is of God, if you believe the bible. Look up Abraham Lincoln polygamy. He signed the law in 1862. If you don't believe, at least take the time to check the facts. You refuse to listen to logic, facts, and biblical evidence. I'm done. There is no reasoning with you. You prove nothing.

The LDS Church is the most Sacred thing on earth. Please understand why I say this for. Very few people receive greater gifts and blessings in their lives like I have and you draw yourself to your Heavenly Father on a greater Level because of the presense of the Father inside your body. Very few LDS Church members will tell you the guidance of the Father is inside of them through the Holy Spirit. Please listen to the things the Mormon LDS Church teaches. I am a greatly blessed man because of being apart of the LDS Church and you only know one thing the Heavenly Father that lives inside of you. The LDS Church is a Sacred institute and you must learn more about it because of it's closeness to the Heavenly Father.

Ex-Mormon of 35+ years here. Looking at some of the comments on this, I think members defend the church because they don't want to experience the feelings induced by admitting that they have been conned, swindled, and taken advantage of. Most people have a very high opinion of themselves, which is normal. We all like think we are above being duped. Our sense of self-assuredness that we all need as humans in order to survive autonomously in our competitive world is exploited by the church's exclusivist teachings, and the cult leaders use it to create robots to do their bidding. Yes, I do think all those men at the top know it's BS and they know they are liars but are afraid of what would happen if the cat gets let out of the bag. Isn't it obvious that they fleece the good members with impunity? This recent 100 billion dollar money-stashing scam is revealing, when they say they kept it secret out of concern that members would stop giving (the leaders routinely tell poor members to give tithing even before their basic needs are met--utterly egregious!).

As a non Mormon who grew up and still live in Utah I can tell you for a fact polygamy is alive and well here with law enforcement turning a blind eye to it. How do you think Warren Jeff's, leader of a Mormon offshoot got away with sex with children even when his father headed the church back in the 50's living in southern Utah ? He was not arrested until he moved his church to Texas where finally non Mormon authorities arrested him. But there are many more Mormon offshoot groups including one Lori Vallow, mother of two who along with her new husband, both Mormons decided to start their own church based on Mormon doctrine murdered her children along with her new husband who's land the children's bodies were found buried on.

I always enjoy listening to people who think they are so intelligent try to discuss a topic they know absolutely nothing about. These guys know nothing about the bible much less the Mormon church. In the bible there is a talking donkey, now that's bizarre, but that doesn't mean it isn't true just because we don't understand it. So people who are not intelligent about a subject that are in a position to voice their opinion really do embarrass themselves which is what they just did.

Thats all tithing is, that 10% we pay is helping someone in need, or building temples or churches, or giving to a charity, you can't say it's just the LDS either, Catholics do it too. Blakekl, was polyandry also commanded in the bible? how about sending mormons off on missions and then marrying their wives while they are gone? how about sneaking behind your first wives back to visit even more possible wives and underage girls? Because that is what god supposedly told Joseph to do. Also God never commanded Abraham to do that, he just did. Actually it was lack of faith on Sara's part to tell Abe to take another wife because she doubted god could give her a son.

I think this clip was a lot better than what CNN did a while back. It isn't super accurate but at least it is more respectful and has some truth. What I wish they would have explained is that on every temple is inscribed "Holiness to the Lord, The House of the Lord." In other words, every single thing taught by the church directs us to Christ. He is our Savior, He is our God and through Him we can return and live with our Heavenly Father. The temple is a place where we can separate ourselves from the world and focus on our adoration of God. Absolutely everything about the temple is symbolic of the Savior and His gospel.

Well, the kind of discussion I'm talking about is of course the critical one. When I went to Sunday School or any other Mormon class, I was taught what I had to know with blind faith and obedience. For example "Gay marriage is wrong and homosexuality is immoral". "O.K, why?". End of conversation. For someone like me that kind of pathway is intellectually insufficient. As an atheist, I know religion can only go so far before it gets itself tangled up in it's own intelligential mess.
