When I was younger, I was replaying Secret of Evermore, and my mom, who also played the game, saw me, and asked me why I'd replay it! I said I loved the game, and I was going to make a fan club for it. She said fine, you can find the other two people in the world that thinks it deserves one!

I think it should be mandatory for anyone couching at an event that they have SOME knowledge of the glitches being performed in a run. I'm JUST starting to get into speedruns, and this is by far one of the best, I feel. The guy in the middle did an EXCELLENT job of explaining the little things that the runner is doing.

nice to see an extremely outgoing nerd for once seems like Meta could have been a good commentator for himself too, dude clearly knows what's going on and isn't shy about saying it, but the guy next to him did a great job, he explained things pretty clearly and he came in at the right times to say what was going on anytime something extraordinary happened that plus the apparently rather high glitch potential in this game made this an unusually entertaining and interesting run

Even when playing this in the 1990s on a SNES I knew this game was seriously broken. There were glitches preventing me from getting into the dirty castle. Then after I went back through the forest and maze, guards prevented me from backtracking into the clean castle! This game is bad news, but oh so enjoyable.

You can get directly to Ebon keep from Ivor tower and skip the dark forest and court yard etc, just go to the area in Ivor Tower that matches the area in Ebon keep where you fight Verminator. The two towns use the same coding location and you can fight Verminator and pop out in Ebon keep.

+pineapplepissant I've posted on some gaming forums in the past about how much I like this game, and the standard response seems to be oh its a Secret of Mana copy. I've played through this game multiple times, and it has a unique charm that no other SNES game had IMO.

That's where most of the similarities end though. that and the "secret" in the title. Bit of bad marketing decision from the square usa branch trying to hitch a ride the secret of mana popularity .

the best speed run iv ever seen! was mine blowing watching one of my favorite games get totally raped. My worst memory was the dark forest! Took me like a whole week to get through it. I even tried maping it out with a sheet of paper and it didn't make sense. Overall is a beautiful game and i love it. definitely gunna try a speed run soon.

I discovered this glitch by myself back in the 90's, it's quite simple in fact :). Take control of the dog, then access the boy menu, select the spell you wanna use, and just after choosing the target, access the boy menu again and repeat, and voilà !

I LOVE this game and the speed run was very informative but I will say I'm surprised for record purposes that people are allowed to use glitches for these. I would be more interested to see what speed run times people could get without using glitches. I don't think the developers intended for people to use the glitches anyways and if they had the time and money to fix them I'm sure they would have.

I do believe that I may be a little late (an understatement, I know), but I think that most games do have a "glitchless" category, where absolutely no glitches are able to be used. One such game is Dishonored, with another being Ocarina of Time. If you already know about this, then just disregard this comment and have a lovely time :D

In one of the later runs or 2014, they have a developer skyping in, both for VVVVV and Borderlands 2. It was great, both devs were so amused, "omg why does that happen? how did that work? how do people discover this?" They're more amused than betrayed and actively supported the hilarity of glitch finding. If you don't like glitched runs, watch only the glitchless category, and certainly avoid TAS.
