The Lofty Mountains track sounds very uninspired. The original version makes me want to explore the world.

Hm, Golden Axe is now called Pyrite Axe? And, yes, the last vestige of "Weapons of Hope" censoring is gone. All Silver weapons are now properly named as it was in the Japanese version. Wait, Morning Star is now "Steel Whip"? That name is a downgrade. The Lofty Mountains theme... it sounds odd in the rearranged version, doesn't bring the same sense of awe like the original version did. Blood Pansy (Trap Flower) is less annoying now that there's a delay in its wake-up animation that players can exploit before it could even cast Sleep Flower. Nikita's spot on Lofty Mountains seems to be fixed. In the original, he may or may not spawn on his spot. This time around, he is permanently there.

I think the Lofty Mountain theme sounds 100% more sexy, like a late night Cinemax kind of feeling ;)

If I ever play this it's going straight on classic soundtrack and Japanese voice overs.

I agree jazz fusion (especially electric guitar) is a jarring choice for Matango's primitive tribe of mushrooms, but the majority of the music seems okay. Remember how weird and discordant Chrono Trigger sounded because of its jazz fusion/ acid jazz / prog rock influence? Probably not, because ones gets used to the dissonance and "surprise" on subsequent listening. Did the music make too far of a leap from the source material, in comparison to the minor playfield changes and intentionally limited graphics? Maybe.

This soundtrack is so hit and miss. Was really hoping for something more like Genesis of Mana. Kikuta's rearrangement album.

@@inquisitorchristopher8527 Lorimar wasn't in Trials Of Mana, though Wendel WAS. It's appearance here was a nod to the original game, which even in Adventures Of Mana called it Lorim. It also appeared in Dawn Of Mana and Children Of Mana as Stroud and Keldy's homeland.
