It's surreal to learn that this exists, I can't even remember which version I saw first. XLR8 has to be my favorite out of these 3 aliens, with Heatblast's intro being the most entertaining to watch, but in my head Eye Guy should be the cannon version since he's new to the point of starting the movie in an interesting way. Something that does botter me though is XLR8, he is usually quick thinking and not seeing him outrun the explosion while saving Grampa Max and Gwen feels a little out of character, his scenes being longer with the dialogue makes the fight also seam a little slower, ironic for the fastest alien out of the 3

This is why i was so disappointed in Alien Force not having the omnitrix glitches anymore to force him to grow as a character. The classic series aliens had so much versatility in them due to the fact that they couldn’t just introduce fifty new aliens all willy nilly making them more diverse and separate from each other, instead of Echo Echo trumping Ditto in every way for example, or Swampfire outclassing Wildvine.

@@bobukcs3353 while ben did mature that never stopped him from spamming the same four aliens over and over again. At times Alien force felt more like ben 5 than Ben 10. The watch malfunctioning kept him on his toes and forced him to think creatively instead of “oh, damn, theres that guy again. Oh, i know what to do! *HUUUUNMMMMMMMMUNNNNGOOOSAUR!”* And i get that in real life some things outclass other things but thats the beauty of fiction. In basically every situation, Ripjaws is basically a deadweight useless fighter, but he still has the advantage of underwater combat which balances out the roster nicely. Every character has their own advantages and disadvantages, and situations where they may or may not be useful. Wildvine is only slightly better than Swampfire because of his extendo arms but they’re so similar that you could basically use either and still win due to how many similarities there are between them. In the classic roster no alien had the powers of another alien besides the really basic ones like enhanced strength endurance or agility to keep them fresh and exciting and make the action scenes feel creative. In Alien force you dont have that, it felt very much like the Jetray, Big Chill, and Humungosaur show.

@@LucyWest370 wildvine is made purely of plant, while swampfire can control plant life, which are already two distant things, swampfire CAN manipulate his body to fit into places in a more effective way than digging holes as wildvine, but wildvine has his bombs which can give different effects, swampfire on the other hand has a weaker variation of heatblast's flames, he is only capable of conjuring small fireballs or a quick firebeam that isn't as good which balances him out already, besides that, ben's recalibration aliens do have their own uses, but most situations have to rely on these specific four aliens, if OS had the same situations where ghostfreak, four arms, and xlr8 was needed every time you'd get bored of it too, and ben himself knows what he's doing even if its the same alien over and over, only reason he got downgraded in af s3 and ua is because of writer choice, the watch malfunctioning gave the "versatility charm", but that wouldn't really work forever, and i am quite literally sure that even if ben keeps overusing an alien he'd eventually snap back into reality and realize "oh no, another alien of this certain expertise may do the job better than pure brute!"

(for the longest time as a kid, I felt crazy trying to explain to my friends and such that there were three different versions of this opening/had no idea why when I saw this on tv the introduction had three different aliens) But out of the three I love the eye guy version the most, mainly because I feel it was the best way to introduce the first ben 10 movie, by introducing a brand-new alien to the film. and if I had to rank them the heatblast version is my 2nd favorite since he was the first alien form introduced so thematically it also makes sense

Not gonna lie, I was always distracted from how dumb it was that *Ben* was being accused of “only being in it for the thrills” by how interesting that idea was. The first thing he said when he realized what the watch did was “Maybe I can use it to *actually* help people… and not make things worse.” Referencing earlier in the episode when he tried to help others *before* he got the watch. But he’s focusing on how his help made things worse, not how it made him look or how it made him feel. That’s the mark of a compassionate person. Despite his occasional ego, at the end of the day he’s still focused on others

Of these I think XLR8 is the coolest. With XLR8 Ben has to get creative with how to defeat the bug and overload the machine. But with Heatblast and Eye Guy it’s just *energy blast pew pew*

I love HeatBlast, he's my favorite Alien, he was the first, he has my favorite color (red) and he dominates the Fire element which suits my personality, but I still think Eye Guy deserves this start since he barely appeared In the franchise in general, especially in Classic, XLR8 was also cool, each one demonstrates very well Ben's versatility in using alien forms.
