The original idea was that Way Big’s predator was gonna be a microscopic virus but there wasn’t a good way to work it into the plot so it got scrapped. Still like the idea that one of the biggest creatures in the universe is pray to one of its smallest but the idea in this video is also cool.

Small note about the cosmic storms - just because they're the source of the To'kustar, doesn't mean every single one of them produces a To'kustar, so it's entirely possible that it's a very rare event, but only cosmic storms *can* produce them.
@MultiEpicX
@MultiEpicX Жыл бұрын
I was thinking something similar! I would agree that the storms would have to meet very specific conditions to produce a Tokustar… I would equate the chances of the birth of a Tokustar to the chances of something like ball lightning forming in a regular electrical storm
@XaviusNight
@XaviusNight Жыл бұрын
@@MultiEpicX Possibly even less! But yeah, it's not a case of *every* storm equals one+ new To'kustar, it's just that without the storms you get 0 to'kustar. It might just also require particularly intense storms - so they pop up in the aftermath of solar-system devastating cosmic storms and then just wander off to go drink a nebula or something.

This actually does make some sense considering that the great one was set to devour entire planets it should be able to devour a Tokustar in much less time. It’s also super durable meaning it might be able to withstand attacks long enough to start truly feeding on them and they also put out harsh toxins that might just weaken the tokustars so that they can feed upon them. Though I think it would be a more even match having to attack Tokustars from the back in order to ensure a kill. I would guess that the primary target of the ticks are tokustars and the Great One is some kind of outlier amongst its kind going after the much riskier prey of planets.

Something on the hydrogen thing that wierdly checks out is that the bases for the Tokustar species, the Ultraman, actually use radiation similar to that of a the radiation given off by a hydrogen bomb I don't think it was intended at all but that's a really cool coincidence that honestly makes me think the theory checks out more

Actually, the Ultras have an artificial sun on their planet which mutated them into the 50 meter tall silver giants we know and love. It's probably solar radiation, but radiation from nukes would probably also explain the mutation as their ancestors were essentially just humans.

If the tick’s species led to a lot of Tokustars dying out, I guess some like the Great One had to adapt. Maybe it grew in size since planets are easy targets. They can’t really defend themselves unless it has a smart immune system/inhabitants (a race of Cannonbolts couldn’t stop it when only one was really needed). And considering the Great One having a reputation for destroying planets, there may have been a long line of them that crumbled away since one giant tick decided to change diets.

It could be possible that, like real life ticks, the big tick is also larger than it should be due to having eaten recently. There's a chance it could be smaller when hungry and the cultists are just keeping it well-fed enough to remain that large, so theoretically said tick could have an easier time latching onto such a large hydrogen lifeform.

I like to think that way big species is so uncommon because of food, a being that big needs way to much food and energy to survive, and the fact that they are born in space and just wander aimlessly until they fall on a planet, they probably just starve on while they are in space, and even if they fall on a planet it probably doesn't have enough food for him to survive a long period of time

1:02 Its kind of like the Anti-Matter Paradox. The laws of physics say that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and therefore, for all the matter in the universe there must be an equal amount of anti-matter. The issue being that if matter and anti-matter existed in equal amount throughout the universe, no complex forms of matter would be able to form due to the constant opposing interactions. This means that either there isn't an equal amount of anti-matter, or space is divided into matter and anti-matter specific zones where one has gained a foothold over the other and reached a stable presence.

The tick is a very cool idea, but I'm not sold on the hydrogen premise - since it makes a very poor scaffold for any biomolecules and metallic hydrogen requires extreme conditions (maybe their bodies stabilise it?). I prefer the idea that To'Kustars leave some sort of embryo in the wake of specific types of cosmic storms and it grows from there. The tick would still work, since the To'Kustar's body would be enriched in elements (likely still a lot of hydrogen) and would provide the tick with continued space-faring abilities.

I think that this theory could work well especially for younger ticks. They are not big enough to consume bigger planets, so they have to search for smaller planets, moon and even Tokustars. And older ticks would consider Tokustars as possible pray for the most of the time because to much energy to spend for so little in return. This will work well by making food sources different for young and adult ticks, which benefits them because of how scattered food for them is

This is an interesting theory and the comments really have added to it. I can see the ticks eating swarms of baby tokustars, provided they aren't born huge as they are. The problem however, is the fact that I can see the tokustars as a society working together to exterminate them. They are intelligent enough to do that. Then again they may have accepted the ticks are their natural predator, to keep their numbers in check. But on the other hand the cosmic storms that they are born from are said to be "unusual", so they could refer to specific kinds. Like for example, two or more stars being close enough for their storms to mix to create tokustars.

One though to the idea that To'kustars should be more abundant, since it's specified that it's unpredictable cosmic storms that create them, maybe the idea is more that they are born from cosmic storms that happen at an irregular moment. Normal cosmic storms are understood well enough that we can consider them fairly predictable (at least timing wise,) but the ones the To'kustars are born from would be something more special that lacks understanding and are a rare occurrence (hence why not many are seen throughout the series.) This would be my understanding for why To'kustars aren't a more common alien specis anyways

I think hydrogen is an unlikely to be hydrogen. Hydrogen is a way too simple element to sustain life in anyway. I think its more likely that they are only born from certain cosmic storms in which the cores of highly dense stars are exposed prematurely. They would still posses incredible amounts of ionized hydrogen.
@sagerogers9033
@sagerogers9033 Жыл бұрын
Yea, this just isn't how hydrogen works. First hydrogen can only make one bond, so it can't form any complex molecules needed fur life. The reason carbon is so great is that the four bonds it makes are very stable. Hydrogen is incredibly unstable on its own. Also notice how hydrogen blimps are huge and still float. If it was lighter than air, way big would be floating off like a balloon no matter how big it was. It would also have basically no weight to it and would waking around like humans on the moon if not outright floating. Hydrogen bombs aren't a great reference for the cosmic ray ability as it's reliant on nuclear fission more than just hydrogen, hence the atom bomb used plutonium, a much heavier radioactive element to achieve fission. It's a cool theory but hydrogen and helium based life just doesn't work according to basic chemistry

I think that to hunk Tokustar you would need to be absurdly strong because Way big was able to match planet destroying laser so you would need to be very strong to even attempt killing them. If I had to guess most Tokustar die to other sapient races or even other people from their kind.

Being a ultra fan i like how you explain this theory.what i thought of their similarities in predator/weakness -Big tick is a bug alien which maybe reference to zetton a formidable enemy through out the series -Big tick sucking nutrients is like some kaiju in many ultra series that able to drain energy to a ultra until they ran out of power -Toku star and Ultras are both minerals/energy And btw way big is my most favorite alien throughout the series Classic,UAF,Ultimate way big are my favorite versions of him

This is an interesting idea, but I doubt a Tick would be a Tokustar’s predator. Though, with your reasoning, I can see them being to a Tokustar what a small poisonous animal is to us. Dangerous, especially if not dealt with immediately, but you wouldn’t call it their predator.
@OlliepopVT
@OlliepopVT Жыл бұрын
I think the Ben 10 franchise in general misuses the term 'Predator' Most real predators aren't evolved to kill specific animals, but rather have traits that make them dangerous to lots of different animals. That's what makes them predators. Ben 10 predators are super-specialised
@la7402
@la7402 Жыл бұрын
@@OlliepopVT that’s a fair point, though it could either be coincidental evolution (since I think a few predators weren’t even on the same planet as Ben’s aliens, but I’m not sure since I’m going off of memory here) or the planets could have forced them to adapt to the environment and thus the alien (like Heatblast’s predator).

To’kustars are *incredibly* rare. I highly doubt something that isn’t even guaranteed to generate in cosmic storms, which are already rare themselves, would even have a predator. It just doesn’t make sense how something can specifically evolve to hunt something that barely exists in the universe. Still a great video and theory, just a To’kustar predator doesn’t make much sense to me.

I like the video but I think I have to disagre with the idea tgat tgere will be tons of Tokustars in the universe. First of all we don't get a lot of information about how long it takes for them to be born and how strong the cosmic storm needs to be for Tokustar to be born. As far as we know only 1% of cosmic storm are big enought to even create these giants. Also I think that the tick is just to weak to even hurt Tokustar.
