The Chair Zero L has a weight limit of 320lbs. Which is the same as the Chair One XL, and while the Zero L has a smaller seat it's waaay lighter than the One XL. I have both and they hold me (at 315lbs) just fine. Great video!

I can be your chair test dummy. I'm 378 pounds and I backpack on a regular basis. And i know the sitting on the ground outcast position while everyone is sitting in chairs. No manufacturer makes a weight capacity chair for my size. But I never let my size stop me. About 8 miles a day is my limit of my capabilities for now. Backpacking has changed my life. When i started backpacking about 2 years ago i started at 466 pounds and now down to 378

Most improvements to my system nowadays come from modifying existing gear instead of purchasing something new. For example, using some needle-nosed pliers to bend the tip of my titanium spork 180 degrees so you can hang it on the dehydrated meal bag is exceptionally pragmatic. I will say I recently bought a silk liner -- which I have never used before -- and was very happy I did so on my recent trip.

My biggest question is why would you both bring something like a stove?? That’s excessive weight to carry. Why not carry just one stove and pot and spilt the weight? Same deal with tents. Why not carry a two or three person tent and split the load between each other. I know you guys review gear but I also think it makes people think they need to carry their own of everything rather than working to split the weight

@tommybewick Жыл бұрын
Very well done, this is so much better than the constant stream of "gear review's" from backpacking "creators".. Think about your audience. Most backpackers watching you are experienced and have already bought their gear and are not going to lay out 100's to 1000's of dollars on new stuff! I have well over $2000 of gear, I have a z-packs tent, a Warbonnet hammock, a ULG back pack, a feathered friends 0 degree sleeping bag, A Helinox chair! etc.. etc... I don't care to see any more videos on some other thing I "need" to buy! I've got it! The only people that the gear reviews are useful to are new back packers, a very small percentage of your audience. Watch Adventure Archives, those guys don't care about gear at all. But they make the best hiking videos of any one on KZbin, that's what we want to see. But if you do that you don't get sponsor money for those...? So , Yeah. ..This video was like watching Adventure Archives sitting around the camp fire cooking dinner and talking, great stuff!

Definitely a true fan bro… however, now you owe us something! You need to sit on Dams lap and test the chair 😂😂😂😂 I 2nd the sticky legs bro, I can’t stand it. Iv jumped in icy water to clean my legs, and in the moment it’s rough, but I sleep much better…, Question for ya. So Iv had an issue with finding the right pillow now that I went to a top quilt. It slips and moves and I’ll definitely use Velcro eventually… Iv tried 3 pillows and recently the Nemo Fillo Elite. I’m thinking I need to go to a jumbo size because I’m more of a side sleeper now I have the OV storm loft and I love sleeping curled up like a little baby. I’m now at a point where I need to invest in a solid thick pillow and sacrificing that weight. With camera gear I can keep around 30ish lbs. What’s your thoughts or suggestions on a thicker pillow that’s still gives me comfort but yet mindful of the weight? Thanks Eric

A "real pillow" sounds great until you side sleep on an inflatable mattress. My head is so far away from the mattress -- even with the mattress a bit deflated. Even the Exped Mega Pillow doesn't come close to being tall enough. I have to stick my arm under it. A "real pillow" would have to be folded 3 times to work.
@kylemckinney_22 Жыл бұрын
Which is why the best combo is a real pillow on top of an inflatable
@mikeoverway6587 Жыл бұрын
that's what my wife and i use; we're side sleepers who prefer more height. we stuffed a small real pillow from the craft store (12x16 i think) inside the cover of the trekology aluft pro...it just fits. when deflated, we can wrap the aluft strap around the whole thing for some level of compactness; it's certainly not small, but not too big either. not filling the aluft up all the way is also key to comfort. it stays in place at night because we use the core beds from zen bivy which have built in hoods...love them too.
