Secret Service’s ‘catastrophic failure’ at protecting Trump criticised following rally shooting

Curtin University’s Dean of Global Futures Professor Joe Siracusa has reacted to the shooting at former president Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally.
A bullet had pierced the upper part of Mr Trump’s right ear and he was evacuated from the site by the Secret Service following the gunshots.
Mr Siracusa described the shooting at Mr Trump’s rally as a “catastrophic failure” of the Secret Service.

It amazes me that Secret Service missed the shooter setting up the shots. After the police and Secret Security were alerted 4 minutes prior to the first shot. The shooter was taken down almost immediately AFTER getting his shots off. He had a clear enough view to setup and acquire a target and get at least 3 shots off before being countersniped. Even if they couldn't see the shooter why wouldn't they pull Trump from the podium at even the hint of a sniper.

Even if you allow the excuse that they couldn't see due to roof slope (I call BS), the shooter WAS at the very least visible as he set up the position and acquired the target. He was shot almost immediately AFTER getting 3 shots off. And why wouldn't they pull Trump from the podium at even a hint of a sniper.
