This is okay for almost clear skies and full-colour backgrounds but not much use if you have a complicated scene behind the main subject with multi colors such as a forest or city traffic etc.

this didn't work at all. I have gone through three different videos on this and nothing works. I am sick of using these other apps and wanted to use GIMP but for some reason I can never delete it. I follow the steps, and it highlights, as soon as I press delete nothing happens, even ChatGPT can't figure this out and I'm about to launch my laptop across the room.

Does your layer have the alpha channel enabled? The other thing that can be a problem is if you have the wrong layer activated whatever you have selected on the channel you think you're working on won't delete.

@@irisheyes3639 Magic, I was having the same problem, I added the alpha channel and selected it then presses delete on my keyboard and it worked
