I used a needle and skirt material last year to turn yamatanukis into imo kemushis and had a lot of great luck!

OSP, Geecrack etc use a salt base in their sofubi lure it helps maintain both an interesting texture and allows for the retention of that scent that's the only reason why I like the official ones, I haven't figured out how to get that same texture due to the salt. great video my friend!

use old bellows gills etc and melt them down. I swear to you tho I have thrown them at fish side by side and there is no difference.

make one mold that's about 10 cubes long or so, then just cut them to size?
@Ijustwanttofish20248 ай бұрын
yes you could do that. You would need 10 bodies to start. The plastic dries pretty quick so even with a few mold you can make them pretty quickly.

Could you use a small ice tray for a mold? Or would it hard to get them out of the tray?
@Ijustwanttofish20244 ай бұрын
Thats a great idea. The bottom would have to be flat so you could glue the plastic down and im sure you could pry it out with a knife. The sides dont matter at all so if the prying screwed it up it wont matter. Let me know if you try it.

@@Mags120fish1 Nice, great idea! Is the shape similar? Believe it or not the shape is important. It will always be a pain to string them but you kind of get in a groove and it isnt so bad.🤣
@Mags120fish12 ай бұрын
@@Ijustwanttofish2024 the shape is more like a cube. It doesn’t taper to a smaller end. I caught fish yesterday on the ones I made using them on a drop shot. Explain what the taper does?
@Ijustwanttofish20242 ай бұрын
@@Mags120fish1 The shape helps the bait with what the Japanese call an escape action. When moved quickly it has a quick stop. Of course there are tons of plastics with silicone these days but the dice shape has proven itself winning alot of money in Japan and the U.S. if its working for you and you have confidence then thats great!

Why not mold a long square log , then just cut off the square dice from the log. Molding each dice separately is nuts, as I see it.
@Ijustwanttofish20243 ай бұрын
the plastic might not cut as nicely as your thinking. Also they dry pretty quickly and I make alot in a short amount of time.

Lmao... take a big senko and thread spinnerbait/ jig skirt through a section cut it to desired size fish. ( I usually us old worn baits)
@Ijustwanttofish20245 ай бұрын
If that works for you keep it up, but thats like saying use any old stick bait not a yamamoto senko. The senko just flat out produces thats why we use it. The dice is not a cut senko.
@rickvann34895 ай бұрын
@Ijustwanttofish2024 I'll be the first to say this. I personally haven't seen one bit of a difference in fishing Yamato senko vs. others none. It comes down to what you have confidence in. Two, I'm saying you can take any worn-out plastic bait and make a spider dice thing, bass eat and eat, they will eat anything when they are in the mood.
@Ijustwanttofish20245 ай бұрын
@@rickvann3489 The whole point of dice or using a yamamoto senko is because we are fishing for fish that are not in the "mood". Thats where you will notice a difference. If you dont, all good.
@rickvann34895 ай бұрын
@Ijustwanttofish2024 understood, my point is this will work by just making your own and a lot cheaper

why not just pour into a rectangular containers and cut them into cubes? Better yet get a microwave safe tray and avoid pouring all together.

If you make your own mold why not make one that has four/ five cavities. Uses less silicone and you can pour more than one at a time.

@Ijustwanttofish20248 ай бұрын
@@formatr6 There is no reason. you can do as many as you like. I started off with one to experiment. Then I did another. Then I made my own body a bit bigger so I had three bodies at that time.
