Thats pretty careless of them taking an enemy soldier while on a dangerous mission. They shouldve thought of that in the first place. An enemy is always an enemy. Its war. But nevertheless, salute to this brave men with nerves of steel!

The phrase "He died for his country" sounds hollow and false. My guess is rather that "He died for his mates" sounds more honest. Brave though. Very brave. I only wish I had the stones..... Maybe I do. I guess you don't know until your meat and two veg is stuck in the toaster. Here's to the blokes who fought for their friends in all wars!

Possibly a white cross Rudemental hand made cap badge I found in a Skip with Dog tag A Burns 50mm shells Corporal stripes and other items from Egypt and Bethlehem mother of pearl king James.Found just miles from Stirling's lands. But not handpicked by him but thinking he Guardsman.Odd I worked with two Falkland Scots Guards and I didn't realize the desperate frostbitten no ammunition The heroic CHARGE to win objective think 47 ScotsGaurds died. One lost Toe both all feet nail. Not a word of hands to feet knife bannot killing. But what bravery is when death is facing One and C Company cannot be understood.I can see why Guards and honour to battalion that I think the comman Scot mentality bore many sas and intelligentce Led by Stirling and maverick officer that failed his own,And there officer

This goes in the "boys and their toys" category. Obviously, units like these played the biggest role in gathering information, and NOT confronting the enemy.. To effectively gather information, one needs to remain hidden. Laying ambushes and planting mines would lead to an enemy (German and Italian) reaction, and the units would quickly be discovered and eliminated. After the war, there was always the need to justify the efforts, resources and money put into these units. That was the perfect excuse to "enhance" their effect on the outcome of the war, in order to ensure future support. At 4:20 mins Stories of soldiers stealing uniforms, and "marching back to British lines", simply by speaking German? That's "Hollywood movie bullshit". Every German soldier had to ID himself, and present a "Marschbefehl" (marching orders), signed by a superior. Where would he have produced that, on the spur of the moment? Sorry, gonna have to sacrifice that one to the "logical" department......

Wonderful "insight" from someone who has never even smelled a battlefield or worn a uniform 😆

I think you are giving the Germans a little to much credit. In the desert bases were spread out and disconnected. Without higher leadership discipline always degrades. And we dont know how or where he crossed behind enemy lines. Additionally many of these units were dipanded after the war. And I'm not sure if you watched this or have read about the unit, but they had quite a bit of direct action engagements. I bet if you were put through the training these guys had to endure, you wouldn't make it. Probably because you lack intestinal fortitude and the basic levels of fitness needed.

All those efforts to make this story exciting (the music, tone and commentary) only resulted in making it utterly boring.
